The original text of Tongguan

"Tongguan" Original: Finally, high clouds cluster in this city, and the autumn wind blows away the sound of hooves. The river is still too wild, and it is not smooth to enter Tongguan Mountain.

1, origin: Tongguan is a seven-character quatrain written by Tan Sitong, a politician and poet in the late Qing Dynasty.

2. Long-standing high clouds gathered at this majestic pass, and the autumn wind blew away the sound of horseshoes. The surging Yellow River and the vast vilen are not stretched enough. Even after entering Tongguan from Huashan, I don't know what flatness is.

3. Creation background: This poem was written by the poet at the age of eighteen, which was the eighth year of Guangxu (1882). This spring, the poet got up from Liuyang and went to Lanzhou, Gansu, where his father Tan Jixun worked. After passing through Tongguan, the poet was deeply attracted by the magnificent scenery in front of him and wrote this hymn sincerely.

4. Theme of the poem: It shows the young spirit of the poet who is eager to break the net, go forward bravely and pursue individual liberation.

Appreciation of Tongguan;

Great wonders are still higher and farther. Tongguan is located at the junction of Shaanxi, Shanxi and Henan provinces, with Huashan peaks in the south and Yuxi Plain in the east. The poet immediately entered the city and saw the Yellow River roaring from the northern plateau canyon, suddenly turning at the foot of the cliff and heading for the flat and vast Yuan Ye, but the momentum did not ease, as if the riverbed was still too tight.

The continuous peaks are not so eye-catching in Kanto. As soon as I entered Tongguan, I suddenly rose, soaring up into the sky, competing for beauty, lest I appear mediocre! Naturally, the so-called "too crowded rivers" and too uneven mountains are all caused by the majestic momentum of the Yellow River and Huashan Mountain in the poet's mind.
