Sorrow in August
Lin
The white ducks are swimming in the yellow pond.
Sorghum stems are too high,
How to insert this beating heart,
A narrow road in the field, this August sorrow?
The hill was washed away by rain last night.
Leave another shadow to shine on the sun;
The sheep followed the shepherd into the village.
There is a well in the shade of a big tree, which looks like a heart!
Nobody said anything in August,
Summer has passed, and it is not autumn yet.
But I looked at the fields, the melons on the earth walls,
I still don't understand what life has to do with dreams.
Appreciation 1
This poem expresses a quiet state of mind and carefree feelings. In a calm narrative, it expresses the lyrical subject's thinking and unspeakable grievances about fate and life. Under the background of quiet and beautiful rural scenery, there is a hidden worry that the poet can't get rid of. This thinking process is the awakening of women's life consciousness, but the awakening process is full of distress and anxiety.

In the calm narration, the lyrical subject's thoughts on fate and life and unspeakable bitterness are expressed. "I don't understand how life can be associated with dreams" tells the poet's deep sorrow: why there is such a gap between romantic ideal and reality. Under the background of quiet and beautiful rural scenery, there is a hidden worry that the poet can't get rid of. This process of thinking is the awakening of women's life consciousness, but the awakening process is full of distress and anxiety. Faced with the hardships and complexities of life, women appear weak and helpless. However, in poetry, this expression of confusion and boredom is implicit, restrained, calm and euphemistic, and has the feeling of "bitterness" in classical poetry.
