Travel Record (5) Strange Landscape: Entering Yulongsha Lake

Text/Konoha Mountain

Jade Dragon Sand Lake is named after the location where the cultural relic "China's No. 1 Dragon - Jade Dragon" was unearthed during the national "Hongshan Culture" archaeological project in 1971.

Shahu is located in Buridun Gacha (village) northeast of Wudan Town, Wengniute Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. It is 30 kilometers away from Wudan Town and 120 kilometers away from Chifeng City. From Chifeng city, drive 90 kilometers north to reach Wudan Town, and then walk 30 kilometers northeast to Yulongsha Lake. There are asphalt roads all along the way, making the transportation very convenient.

Yulongsha Lake borders Horqin Sandy Land to the east, commonly known as the western edge of the "Eight Hundred Miles of Vast Sea", and is alternated with 50,000 acres of sandy grassland on its northwest and south sides. There are deserts, sandy areas, ancient pines, poplar euphratica, strange rocks, strange peaks, wetlands, grasslands, lakes, and unique landscapes.

There is a clear spring in the sand of Yulong Sand Lake, which flows slowly, forming a natural sand lake. The sand lake has a wide water surface and covers an area of ??14,000 acres. There is a lake in the sand, an island in the lake, grass in the island, and birds in the grass. It is hailed by the locals as the most beautiful Xiangsha tourist area in the desert.

Whenever summer and autumn come, there is an endless stream of people coming to explore, go outing, take a sand bath, and go on picnics. The sky here is high and the clouds are light, and there are occasional colorful clouds floating in the blue sky, like water-dyed Sichuan brocade. The shore of the lake is alternated with sand and grass. The water is green with green grass, the sand is white and the water is green.

Looking at the continuous sand dunes in the distance, there are several small islands in the lake. The islands are filled with trees and reeds, and there are many tall and lush cattail grasses. The ocher red cattail grass spits out like flagpoles. The hairpin tassel is reflected in half of the water. The trees cover it, the grass is green and the trees are green, and it is colorful.

There are gorgeous rocks on the dunes, surrounded by clusters of green pine and poplar trees. These trees have grown in the desert for a long time, and their branches are old and thick, with mottled marks, showing the vicissitudes of history.

In the calm lake water, the gentle breeze blew, causing ripples of microwaves. From time to time, someone would ride a yacht across the deserted island in the water. The egrets would be so startled that the egrets would leap into the air, and the wild ducks would fly into the distance with their chirps.

Most of the people who travel here have already taken off their shoes and socks to try out the feeling of walking in the sand with bare feet. Most people choose to climb up the nearby sand dunes and gaze at the distant scenery. But seeing this scenery, there is a poem saying:

The blue sky and white clouds float across the vast sea, and the desert scenery is crowded outside.

The water overflows and turns into a lake, and the sand flies thousands of miles away and forms moss on the hills.

The earth and mountains have endured the vicissitudes of time, and the strange rocks are gorgeous and open to the sky.

Water plants fill the green field, and pines and poplars are sparsely buried in the sand.

The ripples of the lake light rise up, and the island condenses beautifully and falls on the screen.

The egrets whirled far away, and the wild ducks soared into the sky in chaotic formations.

The poetic words extend the chronology, and the charm of Moyuan is not false (cha i).

Tourists are wandering around to explore the wonders, and leisure travelers come in waves from far away.

The sand dunes here are tall and steep. According to the tour guide, the vertical height of these sand dunes is more than 75 meters, and their natural slope height is about 70-100 meters, mostly in a crescent shape. The sand is mostly quartz, with uniform particles and crystal clear.

In order to allow tourists to appreciate the scenery of the desert and see the desert and the 800-mile vast sea, the scenic area has specially set up professional desert off-road vehicles for tourists to ride. Wild camping, car camps, sand skiing, desert paragliding, orienteering, hiking, desert camel caravans and other sand projects are also set up in different areas for tourists to enjoy.

This area has been developed into an ecological and cultural tourism area by the local government, and a resort has been established. Some projects are still under construction. This tourist area was rated as an international 4A-level eco-tourism area in 2013.

This tourist area mainly has five major landscapes:

1. Yulongsha Lake. The water surface of Yulongsha Lake is so wide that it can be called the pearl of the desert. There is a beautiful local legend about Yulongsha Lake: It is said that four or five thousand years ago, there was no lake in this area of ????Buridun. Wind and sand were raging, drought demons were rampant, rivers dried up, the earth was cracked, and no grass grew.

One day, the two daughters of the Jade Emperor passed by here. They were worried about the loss of their lives. They felt compassion and turned into two beautiful girls and descended to earth. They led people to fight against the drought demon and the wind and sand, making the mountains here become beautiful. It has turned green, the water has turned green, and the formerly uninhabited place has become a place with abundant water and plants. It is said that Qigan Lake and Yulong Lake not far from here were inspired by the two sisters. People call it "Dragon Girl Lake".

Whenever the moon is full during the Mid-Autumn Festival in August, some people still see their graceful figures by the lake and hear their sweet and mellow singing. Although the legend sounds a bit mysterious, the stories created by people always have a unique love for beautiful wishes. There is a poem that says:

The anecdotes of the ages have disappeared without a trace, in the vast lakes and sand dunes.

I saw a clear spring spewing sweet water, and it is said that the dragon girl created it.

August and fifteen are bright, and you can often hear singing from the lake.

Ana is a colorful flying phoenix, with beautiful shadows in the hazy moonlight.

2. The first dragon cultural relic sculpture in China. In 1971, a jade dragon from the Hongshan Culture was unearthed in Sanxingtala, Sumu, Gwendu, Chao Dynasty. Its body is dark green, 26 centimeters long, and its body is curled in a "C" shape. It is of great value for studying the origin of dragons and the primitive civilization of the Liaohe River Basin, and is known as "the first dragon in China". For this reason, Wengniute Banner is known as the "Hometown of the Jade Dragon" and has become one of the birthplaces of ancient northern civilization in China.

In order to promote the Jade Dragon culture, in 1999, the "China's First Dragon" sculpture was built in the Gwendusumu government building. It is 12 meters high, including a 2-meter Jade Dragon sculpture. The dragon's head is raised high, and it is about to fly in the sky. The first cultural landscape in the district. There is a Xijiang Yueci saying:

Hongshan culture has been established, and jade dragons were unearthed in mountain villages.

Five thousand examinations have been tracked over the years, and China is the most famous one.

The body is exquisite and dark green, and the shape is like a crescent moon hook.

With his head held high and his flying posture proud of the sky, he is regarded as a national treasure in the world.

3. Hong Kong’s Return to the Motherland Memorial Forest. The Hong Kong Return to the Motherland Memorial Forest is a green gift from the Hong Kong Changchun Society to the Motherland Desert Tree Planting Monument and the Return to the Motherland Memorial Forest. In 1998, organized by the Hong Kong Changchun Society, a green gift was sent to the desert tree planting activity of the motherland. After three years, 107.4 hectares of desert trees were planted in the Yulong Sha Lake Tourist Resort, equivalent to one thousandth of the total area of ??Hong Kong, and 299,700 trees were planted. 1,647 volunteers from Hong Kong and Mainland China participated in the tree planting activities. Therefore, in July 2000, the People's Government of Wengniute Banner built a monument to commemorate this event. This is exactly what it is:

There are countless scenery in the desert for thousands of miles, with flat sand and hills everywhere.

The wind blew sand flying all over the sky, and the high mountains and low valleys were deserted.

Nowadays, afforestation and protection are good, and trees are widely planted as barriers.

Green gifts are sent from Hong Kong so that tourists can enjoy the cool weather.

4. Randen Ancient Cave. The entrance of this cave is triangular and can be entered by people. Two or three meters inside the cave, there is a lamp like a bean. The color of its light changes. It is blue light in the morning, like an electric shock in the sky, red light at noon, like a touch of sunset, and white light in the evening, like a frost front. According to legend, Randen Taoist once meditated in this cave, hence its name. This is exactly what it is:

The thousand-year-old ancient cave is extraordinary, with lamps as big as bean lights that change.

According to legend, Ran Deng once meditated, but now it is just a landscape.

5. Yuchi Jingde Tower Ruins. According to legend, General Yuchi Jingde of the Tang Dynasty passed by here during his expedition to Liaodong and once camped in Wula Mountain. One evening, Jingde was walking his horse in front of the mountain. Seeing a dark wind rising from the top of the mountain in the distance, he rode up the mountain. When I looked closely, I saw that the dark wind came out of a hole on the top of the mountain. It turned out that the place where the dark wind originated was a demon causing trouble. Yuchi Jingde moved a huge stone to block the entrance of the cave, and built a monster-suppressing tower on the entrance of the cave with stones and cast iron.

After the Demon Suppression Tower was built, the weather in the Wula Mountain area was smooth, the water and grass were abundant, and the livestock were prosperous. In order to commemorate Yuchi Jingde's merits, the people here named the tower Jingde Tower. Because Wudan was called Fengzhou in the Liao Dynasty, it is also called the first tower in Fengzhou. This pagoda is located on the top of the mountain of Chaogwenduula. Now the Jingde pagoda has been destroyed, but the base of the pagoda still exists. This is exactly:

General Wei Chigong of the Tang Dynasty led his troops thousands of miles into Liaodong.

I was walking my horse in front of Wula Mountain when I suddenly saw a demonic wind coming from the top of the mountain.

The divine power lifted up the boulder and blocked the Demonic Wind Cave with one throw.

The demon-suppressing tower was built of cast iron, and the foundation of the tower was eliminated.

It takes about a day and a half to visit all five landscapes. Accommodation here is very convenient. You can stay in the county seat, or you can bring your own tent, camp in the wild, and have a campfire dinner in a designated area. Enjoy the beauty of the night view of the desert sand and sea.
