In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit. Amen.
St. Luke records that "the day will come when Jesus will be taken up." (Luke 9: 5 1) Obviously, this means that the Lord Jesus Christ will ascend to heaven in glory. What is the original text of "occupied"? ν? λημψι? The Greek number is 0354, which appears only once in the New Testament. In seventy volumes, the word is used to describe the ascension of the prophet Elijah. Therefore, in the modern Chinese translation of the Bible, it is directly translated as "the day when Jesus was taken to heaven is coming." Although, at this time, there are still about six months before Christ ascended to heaven.
Because the day of Jesus' ascension is near, "he is determined to go to Jerusalem." In the Gospel, "determination" is specifically mentioned. Jesus' going to Jerusalem is his firm attitude and determination. In Luke 13: 32-33, some Pharisees said to Jesus, "get out of here!" Because Herod wants to kill you. " Jesus said to them, "Go and tell the fox that I will drive out demons and cure diseases today and tomorrow, and on the third day my work will be finished. Nevertheless, I must go ahead today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, because it is impossible for a prophet to die outside Jerusalem. Jerusalem is the place where Christ suffered. The Lord Jesus must first fulfill God's will and take the road of "S" and "J" before he can enter glory. After his resurrection, he also said this to two disciples of Emmaus, who had doubts about their faith. "Isn't it right for Christ to suffer like this and enter his glory? (Luke 24: 26) The path of "SJ" is the path that Christ has taken and that everyone who follows Christ must take. No one is an exception. The Lord Jesus Christ himself said, "If anyone wants to follow me, he should give up himself and recite his" S.J. "every day to follow me." (Luke 9: 23) Since you are determined to take the S-J road, don't expect flowers and applause, because taking the S-J road is not a red carpet.
On the way to Jerusalem, the Lord Jesus sent an angel in front of him. They entered a Samaritan village to "prepare for him" (Luke 9: 52), which means "prepare for his lodging" according to the translation of the Bible. As a Jew, Jesus wants to enter the village of Samaria and even want to stay here. This is indeed an incredible and unusual move.
