Poems for Waterbirds

William cullen bryant (1794— 1878) was the first American romantic poet and the first American poet recognized by the British poetry circle.

He led American poetry to get rid of the rigid bondage of classicism and enter a simple and fresh period, so he is often called "Wordsworth of America".

His representative poems are The View of Death: The Theme of Death (18 1 1) and To a Waterbird (18 15).
