Gourd has a long history and covers a wide range. It is closely related to art, especially to poetry in language art. According to statistics, there are nine articles about gourd in the Book of Songs (all referring to gourd). Since then, there have been many poems about gourd in past dynasties.

The Tang Dynasty was the heyday of China's poetry, and there were many poems about gourd. The three great poets, Li Bai, Du Fu and Bai Juyi, are all excellent works of writing gourds. For example, Du Fu's poem "Moving the Frame":

Yang Wanli, one of the "Four Masters of Zhongxing" in Song Dynasty, wrote many chapters about rural scenery, not to mention singing gourd. His poem "Xian" makes the gourd interesting:

Qian Fan of the Yuan Dynasty wrote a poem "Planting Zan", which was very affectionate:

Gao Qi, a poet in the Ming Dynasty, told himself that the poet was skinny and not as fat as a gourd. Its "Xuan Cai" said:

Turn to frost and dew, and return at the beginning of autumn. Laughing poets are not fat in their bones.

In the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, Hou Fangyu studied hard when he was a child. One day. The monk enjoyed the cool under the gourd frame. When he was young, he stopped Yu Fang and insisted that he write poems on the gourd. Xiao Fangyu looked at the present situation and sang:

Gourd vines under the gourd frame, and gourds under the gourd frame are bright. When the gourd touches the gourd head, it doesn't hurt, but it does.

Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty loved model gourds and wrote poems on them. His poetry collections include Gourd Box Fu, Gourd Apparatus Fu, Gourd Bowl Fu, Gourd Bottle Fu, Gourd Pot Fu and so on. On one occasion, Gan Long and others visited Mount Tai. As a "Taishan painter", Zheng Banqiao wrote a poem on the gourd pot for him to browse, saying:

Sharp mouth, big belly and high ears make you proud that you are not hungry or cold. A small amount can't hold a big event, and two or three inches of water can make waves.

Qi Baishi, a master of modern painting in China, has created many paintings about gourds. At the age of eighty, he made a gourd picture and wrote poems on it, which showed his unremitting pursuit of art. The poem says:

Looking at the wall again and again when lighting the lamp, there is no strange sweat in the years. If you want to change your mind, it's hard to give up the truth.
