On Don Juan's Foreign Literary Works

The poetic novels of Byron (1788— 1824), an English romantic poet. The young Spanish nobleman Don Juan is brilliant and handsome. /kloc-When he was 0/6 years old, he fell in love with Julia, a neighbor's aristocrat, and was sent to Europe by his mother. On the way to Italy, the ship sank in a storm, and Don Juan fell in love with Hyde, the pirate daughter who saved him. Due to the opposition of pirates, Hyde died tragically and Don Juan was sold as a slave in the Turkish palace. Unwilling to take the bait, he escaped from the palace and joined the Russian army. Because of his bravery, he was sent to Petersburg to tell the queen the good news and won her favor. Soon, the Queen sent him to England, and since then, he has been living among Shu Yuan, a celebrity in London's upper class. Just as he started a new adventure life, the long poem was interrupted (only a few lines of Song 17 were written). According to the author's original writing plan, Don Juan will also roam Europe, experience siege and war, participate in the French Revolution, and finally die in the barricade battle in Paris.

Don Juan is a unique model, and his character has experienced the development and change from kindness, enthusiasm, fortitude and courage to drifting with the tide and cynicism. When the ship was wrecked, there was a barbaric incident of eating human flesh on board. He would rather endure hunger than eat a piece. When Princess Sultan repeatedly courted him, he refused: "The eagles in the cage don't want to match." In the battle, he always "rushed to the place with the most intensive gunfire" and risked his life to save the little Turkish girl from the butcher's knife of Cossack soldiers. Although he had many love experiences, he didn't take the initiative to woo or abandon each other, but was often forced to separate. He missed Julia suppressed by feudal marriage and left the country with his last love letter. His love for Hyde is more loyal, and he has always been infatuated with it and missed it. It is precisely because of the cruel destruction of this happy love that his pure heart has been greatly hit, and the relationship between the Russian queen and the British lady has become a take part in accidental amusement. The poet thinks that Don Juan's indulgence is above all that he lives for "natural nature", which is beyond reproach. The main reason is that Don Juan is simple and kind, weak-willed, unable to withstand the temptation of a filthy society and has become a captive of the environment. Therefore, Don Juan is not a hero or a * * *, but a good man with weaknesses. He is not only the product of that changeable era, but also the artistic innovation of the poet. Through Don Juan's adventure and love experience, the long poem shows a picture of European social life from the end of18th century to the beginning of19th century, strongly satirizes, exposes and criticizes the evils of feudal autocracy and money rule, and shows great contempt for feudal and religious hypocritical moral norms.

The romantic features of long poems are highlighted in the poet's subjective lyricism. About half of the long poems left the story of Don Juan, the hero of the works, and replaced it with the feelings and understanding directly expressed by the poet himself. Among them, there are comments on current politics and calls for fighting, the pursuit of life and ideals, the description of exotic scenery and the expression of inner love and hate, and the feelings are unrestrained, just like being unconstrained. Therefore, the background of long poems is extremely broad, the content is extremely rich, and it is more realistic and combative. The use of satirical art in long poems has reached a new height, which is mainly manifested in the substitution of bitter political satire for general satire and sarcasm. This satirical style, from the story of18th century to the European tyranny of11920s, made long poems an "satirical encyclopedia" of social life at that time. The whole poem is permeated with the democratic ideal and the struggle for national liberation, which is not only the peak of the poet's poetic genius, but also the main symbol of the perfect combination of romanticism and realism in his creation.
