Why does the author praise London in this poem?
This exquisite sonnet was written on1September 3, 803, and was first published in 1807. Wordsworth wrote it on Westminster Bridge, but according to himself, it was actually written in a carriage on his way to France. In this poem, Wordsworth depicts London in early autumn from Westminster Bridge on the Thames. The City of London is beautiful, and the City of London in the morning light has a simple, bright, magnificent and quiet beauty. If the noisy city of London is like a giant in the daytime, then its boiling life is like a giant's heart beating. But at the moment, theatres and churches are lying on the ground, the city of London is still asleep, the rising sun is emitting the first ray of golden light, the Thames is slowly flowing, the huge heart has not yet started to beat, and everything is so quiet, solemn, elegant and moving. In the face of such beautiful scenery, the poet certainly can't be indifferent. This poem is true and delicate in emotion, unpretentious in language, beautiful and harmonious in rhyme, slow and comfortable in rhythm, and well conveys the solemn and quiet emotional content, which is worthy of being one of the most famous sonnets.
