1. The legend about Huashan: It is said that more than a thousand years ago, during the Tang and Five Dynasties periods outside Chinese history, Zhao Kuangyin was just an ordinary soldier at that time, doing nothing all day long. , had not yet become the emperor of the Song Dynasty. Zhao Kuangyin was good at playing chess, and because of his bravery and strategy, his chess skills progressed quickly, and all the good players were defeated by him, so he became a little proud, boasting that he was the best player in the world, and often expressed the emotion that it was difficult to find an opponent. . One time, Zhao Kuangyin accompanied the army to Shaanxi. When passing through Mount Huashan, he heard that there was a Taoist priest on the mountain, known as Patriarch Chen Tuan. He was an excellent chess player and was famous far and wide. Zhao Kuangyin didn't feel it was necessary to play chess, so he went to Mount Huashan to play chess with an old Taoist. Ancestor Chen Chuan saw that he was just a soldier and did not want to play chess with him. When Zhao Kuangyin heard that he was anxious, he said he would bet the entire Huashan Mountain. Unexpectedly, at the end of the game, he missed a kill because of his haste, and was defeated by Chen Tuan. Later generations have handed down records of the chess game played by the two at that time, which makes it difficult to distinguish the authenticity. The chess records record that the two sides started with "immortal guiding the way to the war game" and then changed to "first hand screen knight versus second hand screen knight". "The game played against each other. From the perspective of chess skills alone, it is indeed a wonderful game in the history of chess. However, from the perspective of bets, the bets placed in this game should be the largest bets in the history of chess. Let's gamble!
2. The legend of Huashan: Split the mountain to save the mother. On the top of the west peak of Huashan, there was a huge stone more than ten feet long that was cut into three sections. Next to the huge stone was a handful of seven A crescent iron ax that is 1 foot tall and weighs more than 300 kilograms. According to legend, this is the place where Agarwood split the mountain to save her mother. The huge stone is called "axe to split stone", and the iron ax is called "mountain-breaking ax". The story goes like this. One year, it was the Queen Mother's birthday and a peach party was held. All the gods and goddesses in the sky came to the banquet and to pay their respects to her birthday. The Jade Emperor's youngest daughter, the Third Holy Mother, and the golden boy in front of the palace also came. During the birthday greetings, they smiled at each other. How could the solemn Peach Club tolerate such frivolous behavior? The immortals talked a lot. When the Jade Emperor found out, he was furious and demoted the Third Holy Mother to the Xueying Palace next to the Xiyue Temple, and the golden boy was also knocked down to earth. The golden boy was born in a family named Liu, and was named Liu Xi with the courtesy name Yanchang. The Liu family loved Liu Chang very much and asked him to study scriptures every day. When he was 20 years old, he became a scholar. That year when the emperor was starting his studies, Liu Xi went to Beijing to take the exam. Passing by Huayin, he heard that the Three Holy Mothers were very efficacious, so he went to the temple to ask for a fortune and inquire about his future. He looked at the beautiful and dignified statue of the Three Holy Mothers, not only in awe, but also respectfully shook the lottery tube away from him. Unfortunately, it happened that the Three Holy Mothers were out for a banquet, and the gatekeeper did not dare to grant the signature rashly. Liu Xi drew the first lot reverently, and was a little surprised when she saw that it was an empty draw. I drew the second one, and it was still empty. He panicked and went to draw the third lot. He shook and shook the lot box again and again. He didn't dare to draw it for a long time. The third lot fell on the ground. If he didn't look at it, it would be drawn. As soon as he saw it, all his hopes suddenly disappeared. limp. It turned out to be an empty ticket. Liu Xi calmed down, looked at the statue of the Three Holy Mothers, and wrote on the wall: "Liu Xi wrote with great anger, complaining angrily against the Holy Mother and the Three Holy Mothers. Drawing three lots in a row has no effect, and I am in vain for the cigarettes here." Come on, walk away. After attending the banquet, the Three Holy Mothers returned to the palace happily with their feet on the auspicious clouds. After being served by the gatekeeper, they recounted what had just happened. She looked at the poem on the wall, felt ashamed and angry, and couldn't help but cursed: "How dare you do this, how dare you do this? If you don't teach him a lesson, how can you know how powerful I am!" So he called Uncle Feng and Yu. Teacher, there was a violent storm with thunder and lightning. Liu Xi was on his way when suddenly there was a strong wind, dark clouds, thunder and lightning, and heavy rain. How could a weak scholar withstand the wind and rain? He staggered and struggled to move forward. Finally, the road was slippery due to the rain, and he was exhausted and fell into the muddy water. At this time, the Third Holy Mother saw Liu Xi's handsome appearance and talent through the clouds, and she fell in love with him. She immediately put away the thunderstorm and inspired a villa to marry Liu Xi. One day, the news that the Third Holy Mother married Liu Xiyi and was pregnant reached the ears of the Erlang God Yang Jian. How could the son of the Jade Emperor allow his sister to do such a dishonorable thing. Then he picked up his three-edged and two-pointed knife and hurried towards Xueying Palace at the foot of Huashan Mountain. Seeing that her brother was approaching fiercely, San Shengsheng hurriedly saluted and said hello, served tea and gave up her seat. Yang Jian immediately asked about marrying Liu Xi, a mortal. How dare the Three Holy Mothers admit it? At this time, Yang Jian took out the gleaming and cold sword and asked the Third Holy Mother to blow a breath on the sword. The Third Holy Mother was so frightened that she blew on it. When Yang Jian saw that she was indeed pregnant, he scolded the Third Holy Mother for being shameless, marrying a mortal privately, violating the laws of heaven, and losing her immortal body. He immediately pressed her under a big rock on the west peak of Huashan Mountain. Liu Yanchang and San Shengsheng got married. A few days later, they went to Beijing to take the imperial examination and became the magistrate of Luozhou County. The poor Third Holy Mother suffered all kinds of suffering under that stone and gave birth to a boy named Chenxiang. She was afraid that Erlang Shen would harm Agarwood, so she wrapped the baby, wrote a letter in blood, and gave it to the maid Lingzhi to send to Luozhou. When Chenxiang was ten years old, one day Qin Guanbao, the son of Qin Guojiu, laughed at Chenxiang because he had no biological mother and was an illegitimate child. Chen Xiang was furious and accidentally beat Qin Baoguan to death. He ran home and told his father the cause of the trouble. Liu Yanchang had no choice but to tell the truth. After hearing this, Chenxiang decided to go to Huashan to rescue her mother and fled Luozhou in a hurry. That day, Lu Zu was sitting quietly on the futon with his eyes closed. Suddenly he felt his heart churning, and he calculated on his fingers that Chenxiang was coming to Huashan to save his mother. He thought that this was a righteous deed, and I would help her succeed in one fell swoop. Lu Zu then went to the foot of the mountain to wait in person.
Chenxiang came to the foot of the mountain and met a Taoist priest. He hurriedly saluted: "Taoist priest, is this mountain Huashan?" "What do you want to do in Huashan?" "Save my mother." "Who is your mother and where is she now?" "I The mother is the youngest daughter of the Jade Emperor, the Third Holy Mother, who was crushed under a rock on the mountain by her uncle Yang Jian, so she came here to rescue her. "You can't go! You can't go! Yang Jian is a vicious god in the sky, and he is very powerful in martial arts. You are young." , Is he his opponent? I advise you to stop thinking about it!" Chen Xiang glared and said, "In order to save my mother, I have to compete with him even if I am broken into pieces." "You are ambitious!" Lu Zu said to Chen Xiang. : "If you don't mind, I'm willing to teach you martial arts. What do you think?" After hearing this, Chen Xiang was filled with joy and hurriedly stepped forward and knelt down to his master. From then on, he studied under Lu Zu's family. He gets up early every day and practices diligently until late at night. He is proficient in all eighteen kinds of martial arts. One day, Lu Zu went out and asked Chen Xiang to practice his art well. Chenxiang closed the temple door, danced with the gun and danced with the stick, and practiced hard. When the master did not come back during dinner, he started practicing again. I practiced until the sun was setting in the west and I was really hungry, so I went to the kitchen to cook. He entered the kitchen and found nine cows and two tigers made of noodles in the cage. He felt a little strange, but he was so hungry that he didn't care about much, so he ate the nine cows and two tigers and immediately felt very strong. When I came to the courtyard and picked up my usual weapon, it was too light to hold. He looked around and saw a bowl of thick-mouthed, eight-foot-long iron pestle placed in the corner. He grabbed it with his hand and waved it, neither light nor heavy. At this moment, Lu Zu came back. He laughed and said, "Okay! Okay!" Chen Xiang put away the iron pestle and knelt down. Lu Zu said to him: "After you have learned martial arts, you can go up the mountain." Save your mother. The key to the mountain lies with your uncle Yang Jian. He has a dog and an eagle, which are very powerful. I will give you two pills, the round dog and the long eagle. They will be useful when the time comes. , then he took the iron pestle and went up the mountain to find Yang Jian. When he arrived at Tianmen, he saw many generals surrounding a majestic and arrogant god. He bowed and said, "My name is Chenxiang. I came to save my mother. I asked my uncle for the key to the mountain." After hearing this, Yang Jian raised his eyebrows. He raised it up, stared wide-eyed, and shouted: "You brave beast, how dare you act so presumptuously, get out of here, or you will die!" Seeing his air, Chen Xiang guessed that it was Yang Jian, so she politely said, "Please give me the key to the mountain." Give it to me so that my mother can be released." "Evil! If I don't give you some clues, how can you know my power!" Yang Jian took out a three-pointed two-edged knife and chopped it down at Chen Xiang's head. Chenxiang raised the iron pestle and raised it with all her strength. There was a "click" sound, and the knife broke into two sections, and the upper half flew towards the sky. Erlang Shen was angry and anxious. He roared and called the Roaring Dog. The roaring dog jumped into the air with its mouth wide open. Agarwood threw out a round pill, and Roaring Sky Dog swallowed it with his mouth open. He immediately closed his teeth and lay rolling on the ground. When Yang Jian saw the Roaring Sky Dog dead, he released the condor. The condor spreads its wings, covering the sky and the earth, and its two sharp claws are like sharp knives. Agarwood threw another long pill, which fixed the two wings of the condor in the air, making it impossible to go up or come down. At this time, the majestic Erlang Shen was sitting on a stone with a purple face, a headache and weak body. Chenxiang stepped forward and asked for the key to the mountain, but he had no choice but to order God to take it out. Chen Xiang took a look and saw that it was a gleaming crescent axe. Agarwood held the crescent axe: "Mother! Mother!" Beifeng shouted to Nanfeng, and South Peak called to East Peak. They called here and answered there, but they still couldn't find mother. He thought to himself that even if he had the key to the mountain and couldn't find his mother's residence, it would be difficult to rescue her. So he burst into tears and cried until the sky became dark and the earth became dark, and the sun and moon lost all light. A mountain god heard Chenxiang's cry and was deeply moved. He ran and said, "O filial child, your mother is at Xifeng." Only then did Chen Xiang gather her energy, step up to the west peak, and shout: "Mother!" She immediately heard the echo of "My son, mother is here". Agarwood rose higher and higher in the air, raised the iron ax high, and struck it hard towards the top of the peak. Thousands of golden lights flashed, and the sound of thunder shook the sky. A crack was opened on the top of the peak, and the Three Holy Mothers slowly walked out. The place where Agarwood cried loudly was called "Filial Son Peak". When Liu Yanchang heard in Luozhou that Chenxiang had rescued the Three Holy Mothers, he gave up his official position and came to Huashan, where his family was reunited. The story of Agarwood chopping mountains to save her mother has been widely circulated among the people for a long time and is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. This story has been put on the theater stage, with the Qinqiang Opera "Splitting the Mountain to Save the Mother" and the Peking Opera "Baolian Lantern" both singing this story.
3. The legend of the middle peak of Huashan Mountain - playing the flute to attract the phoenix. The steep and steep Huashan Mountain looks like a blooming lotus from a distance. The four peaks in the east, west, south and north are petals, and the middle peak is the origin of this strange lotus. Playful. This Huaxin is also known as Jade Girl Peak. Jade Girl was the beloved daughter of Duke Mu of Qin during the Spring and Autumn Period. According to legend, the Jade Girl cried all day long when she was born, but stopped crying when she saw a piece of crystal clear jasper presented by the Chu State. When he was one year old, Duke Mu took out many gold and silver jewels, chalk and inkstones, and put them together with the jade for her to catch. She only caught the jade. Seeing that she loved jade so much, Duke Mu named her Nongyu. When Nongyu grew up, she was extremely beautiful, loved music, and was especially good at playing the sheng. Mu Gong asked a skilled craftsman to carve the piece of jasper into a very exquisite jasper sheng, and Nongyu used it to play beautiful music and the calls of birds. When she blows the phoenix's cry, it sounds even better than the real phoenix's cry. Many princes and grandsons proposed to her, but she refused. She only wanted Ren, who was proficient in music and good at playing the sheng, as her companion. Duke Mu had no choice but to choose a son-in-law for her according to his wish. At that time, there was a learned and talented young historian in the Zhou Dynasty, named Xiao Shi. Because he offended the powerful, he abandoned his official position and lived in seclusion in Huashan Mountain. He made a living by collecting herbs and continued to write history. Xiao Shi also loves music very much and is good at playing the flute. His flute is made of purple jade, which is warm and radiant.
In the dead of night, people often play the flute to amuse themselves. The sound of the flute is carried hundreds of miles away by the breeze. One night, the wind was clear and the clouds were light, and the moonlight was like a wash. Nongyu was playing the sheng by the window, and suddenly he heard the melodious sound of the flute coming from the east. The sound of the flute coincides with the sound of the sheng. When the sheng rises, the flute rises, and when the sheng stops, the flute stops. The flutes and shengs play in harmony, as slowly as buckles, like questions and answers, which is particularly beautiful. Nongyu thought it was a hallucination at first, but it happened like this for several nights in a row. She felt very strange, so she begged her father to send someone to look for the flute player immediately. Duke Mu sent people out to search, and finally found Xiao Shi from Huashan. Xiao Shi was summoned to the palace, and Duke Mu ordered him to play on the spot. Xiaoshi played the purple jade flute calmly, and the sound of the flute was beautiful and unique. As soon as the first song ends, the breeze blows; the second song sounds, and the colorful clouds turn around; the third song, there are white cranes in pairs, flying in the sky, colorful phoenixes in pairs, perching on the branches, hundreds of birds singing in harmony, and then they disperse. What a miracle! Duke Mu, Nongyu and the princes and ministers were amazed. Nongyu fell in love with Xiaoshi when he saw that he was handsome, charming and unrestrained. Duke Mu decided to call Xiao Shi as his son-in-law, and they got married that day. After marriage, Nongyu and Xiaoshi had a deep relationship. Xiao Shi wrote history in the palace during the day, and played the jade flute and sheng at night. Gradually, Xiao Shi became tired of the boring life in the palace and longed to return to Huashan to live a free life. He concentrated on sorting out historical materials and compiling historical books. He told Nongyu his idea, and Nongyu was very supportive and willing to look at Huashan Mountain with him. Duke Mu was shocked and angry when he heard the news. He was afraid that Xiao Shi and Nong Yu would leave quietly, so he sent many guards to guard them closely. On the day before leaving, Nongyu was very excited when he saw that the guards were heavily guarded and could not escape. At this time, I saw Xiao Shi blowing the purple jade flute calmly towards the sky. In an instant, colorful clouds floated in the sky, and red dragons and purple phoenixes slowly descended from the five-colored clouds. Xiao Shi and Nong Yu rode dragons and phoenixes respectively, and circled the palace for three times amid the sound of flutes and chirps, and then flew eastward leisurely, all the way to Mount Huashan. From then on, they lived in the middle peak of Huashan Mountain. To this day, there are still relics such as the Jade Girl Temple, the Jade Girl Cave, the Jade Girl Shampoo Basin, the Jade Girl Dressing Table, and the Phoenix Yinting Pavilion where the Jade Girl rode the phoenix.
Folklore of Huashan Mountain:
It is said that when Dayu was controlling floods, he led the Yellow River out of Longmen. When he came to Zhangguan, he was blocked by two mountains. The one to the south of these two mountains is called Huashan, and the one to the north is called Zhongtiao Mountain. They are so tightly connected that the river cannot pass through them. At this time, a great god called Giant Spirit came to help and split the two mountains. However, Huashan Mountain was split into two mountains, one high and one low. The high one was called Taihua Mountain and the low one was called Shaohua Mountain. This is also the origin of Li Bai's poem "The giant spirit roared and split two mountains, and the torrential waves sprayed into the East China Sea". In addition, there are widely circulated stories such as "Agarwood splits the mountain to save the mother" and "Blowing the flute to attract the phoenix".
According to the research of Mr. Zhang Taiyan, a famous scholar in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, Huashan Mountain is one of the birthplaces of Chinese national culture. "China" and "Huaxia" are both named after Huashan Mountain. There are records about Mount Huashan in the Book of History; there are also stories about Huangdi, Yao, and Shun's tours to Mount Huashan in the "Historical Records"; more than a dozen emperors including Qin Shihuang, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, Wu Zetian, and Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty also visited Mount Huashan to conduct large-scale sacrificial activities.
Huashan Mountain also has the footprints of countless celebrities, legends and historical sites. Since the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Li Bai, Du Fu and other literati have written more than a thousand poems, inscriptions and travel notes about Huashan, and there are thousands of rock carvings. From Yang Bao and Yang Zhen in the Han Dynasty to Feng Congwu and Gu Yanwu in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many scholars once lived in seclusion in the valleys of Huashan Mountain and opened schools to teach students, which made them famous for a time. The Xiyue Temple, built during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, is known as the "Forbidden City of Shaanxi" and the "No. 1 Temple in the Five Sacred Mountains". It is the earliest and largest temple among the Five Sacred Mountains. In Chinese history, 56 emperors once visited this mountain to tour or hold sacrificial activities.
