Rhythmic requirements for ancient poetry

The metrical requirements of ancient poetry are as follows:

1. Syntax: The number of words in each sentence of ancient poetry is variable, and there are four, five, six, seven and even miscellaneous words. Each poem The number of sentences is also uncertain, ranging from two sentences to dozens or hundreds of sentences. There are only two types of modern style: five-character and seven-character. Rhymed poetry is defined as eight sentences, quatrains are defined as four sentences, and those with more than eight sentences are arranged rhymes, also called long rhymes.

2. Use of rhyme: each poem in the ancient style can use one rhyme, or two or more rhymes. It is allowed to change the rhyme. Each poem in the modern style can only use one rhyme, even if it is dozens of times long. The rhythm of the sentences cannot be changed. In ancient style, even-numbered sentences can rhyme, and even-numbered sentences can also rhyme.
