"Who will go to hell if I don't go to hell?" Although it is not the original words of the Buddha, it has become a certain spirit of Mahayana Buddhism in a sense because of its significance. In the sense of "Hinayana" (self-cultivation and self-certification), people in the underworld are not only the hidden generation of our bodies, but also the rolling world of mortals and mountains. At the same time, it is also a "stop" expression of "everywhere" or "doing your best". For example:

Like "Xu Ru meets the old monk personally" and "Xu Ru meets Yunmen personally":

Yunmen ≠ Yunmen himself, the old monk ≠ Qingyuan himself.

So, I ≠ Buddha himself

Then who am I? I = this mouthful = Xijiang water = heart

This bite, hell is empty. The monk explained: "Without success, there is no fiber flow in Xijiang." After this bite, the students stopped asking, "What happens when the iron cow swallows the void?" There is no need for the teacher to ask "where is the iron cow?"

So the Buddha doesn't have to go down in the flesh, and the flesh can't go down. The Tathagata said clearly, "If you see me with color and beg me with voice, it is heresy and you can't see the Tathagata."

At the same time, he decided whether to get on the bus or not! Hamlet said, "If you go, no one will come back." Buddha said, "When a person loses his life, all disasters are irreparable." Gee, you are all down and out princes.

In the last days of becoming a monk, well, as a devout believer, he has reached the entrance of hell: "It's time, the vanity god lived on earth, and he said to me"-after listening to the words of the vanity god, he suddenly realized, but this hell is absolutely not allowed! Go and read it in one breath.

The Monkey King is a frequent visitor to the underworld.

I didn't listen to Wukong. "YanJun is my ten generations of slaves, wutong tank god is my afterlife. No matter the three worlds, five divisions and ten butchers, they all know me well. Where are you going to tell me? " The Journey to the West is the first romantic novel in ancient China. It is based on the historical event of "Tang priest learning from the scriptures" and deeply depicts the social reality at that time through the author's artistic processing. Needless to say, literary value contains a lot of religious elements. On the surface, the protagonist of Journey to the West seems to be the Monkey King. There is a poem in the seventh time of the original "The Great Sage in the Eight Diagrams Furnace escapes from the Five Elements Mountain":

Well, that's the first sentence, "The ape's way is false to people's hearts, and the heart is deep." The author clearly tells readers that the Monkey King, a monkey walker, represents the "human heart". It also means that the author is the reader. This is a "double spring play": on the bright line, the protagonist is the walker, and on the dark line, the Tathagata is the protagonist. Try to say it.

Vimalakīrti's mustard seed meets sumeru, which is obviously a "popular" statement of "Three Realms Idealism" or a "stop" statement. What is the position of that heart in Buddhism? Needless to say. According to Mazu, "the heart is the Buddha", oh, so-and-so: mustard seed → human heart (Monkey) → Buddha heart (Tathagata) → sumeru-in the context of Zen, there is such a connection.

It should also be noted that the context of Zen is enlightenment, not strict logic! The Journey to the West is a "nonsense" story, and it is not feasible to make a strict logical analysis of fairy tales. Then who can understand it? Hanshan later mentioned the "air man". Then when can we solve it? When it's really "casual". As a result, the "ambiguous" relationship between the Monkey King and Buddha in the classic works is quite interesting. Po Hou can't escape from the Tathagata's palm all his life, and this plot is "logical".

Isn't it? The monkey peed on the Tathagata's hand as a sign. As a result, how it runs is under the control of Tathagata's palm. Buddha said "three realms of idealism", Vimalakīrti said "Buddha's heart is as big as it is", and there is a more artistic saying that "out of nothing, out of nothing"! Can you run? Can you hide it? The path of meditation is clear. The monkey just peed on his "Monkey Mountain".

Monkeys are people's hearts, and Tathagata is sincere. "The human heart is only in danger, and the heart is only small." In a sense, the human heart is hell! Even if the human heart is hell, it can be sincerely influenced, as long as people are willing. So "everyone has it". Therefore, it is said that "sages do not increase, and fools do not decrease." So, "anyone can do it. What about you? A foolish husband and a foolish woman can establish a sanctuary, but let's see how determined they are. " The process of turning people's hearts into sincerity is practice. What Buddhist scriptures tell us is "pain" and "tempering" over and over again, as well as "self-realization", "self-perfection" and "self-redemption" on this basis.

So go to heaven for a while and go to hell for a while. Let's see if Wukong is busy. Uh-huh, "three realms of idealism" and "omniscient"-who is busy if you are not busy? Or not. Who are you busy with? Or, if you don't worry about yourself, who will worry about you? Gee, in Buddhism, besides "heart", who else can be named "the Monkey King"?

There is also his well-known golden hoop stick. Besides the scientific names such as Lingguang, Zhenbao and Dinghai Shenzhen, there is also the nickname "Baby", commonly known as "Column Staff". Do you think there are many scenes of the Monkey King crying in Journey to the West? Either "Haloxylon ammodendron's eyes contain tears", or "pearl rain with tears", or "kowtowing to the elders with tears and telling Friar Sand with tears"-in a word, the heart contains "all kinds of hardships", which is the first of the four truths. In the fifty-first book, I cried and said "gains and losses" because the "stick" was gone: "Unexpectedly, without the stick now, how can I get rich with my bare hands and bare feet?" "Ruyi" and "Shenzhen" are easy to understand. The so-called "as it wishes" is the "Shenzhen Expo". However, using a stick to represent "my heart" is more creative than "Ruyi Pearl".

I wonder why monks don't write novels. Great Sage's performance in hades should be delayed as much as possible! Even so, in the book of life and death, you can only "tick off monkeys and the like, but those famous ones." Therefore, the Buddha can only empty his own hell, and his old man can't work for others. Only then did the venerable master say, "If you are wise, I will prove myself." That's what happened. For your own good, don't resent me for what Ye Jia said to Ananda.

Moreover, "going to hell" ranks first, and "returning to your seat" ranks last.

Therefore, "hell is not empty, I swear not to become a Buddha; When all beings are exhausted, they can prove Bodhi. "

Uh-huh, "Hell is not empty, I will never become a Buddha" is an oath, but also helpless-the order cannot be changed. Therefore, the Great Sage and the Buddha were unequal from the beginning. The monkey said in the heavenly palace, "I have many ways." How can I not sit in heaven? " Buddha is a serious man: "I will make a bet with you: if you have the ability, you will win by hitting my right hand with a somersault."

Thus, there is such a story: from the birth of an ape, to the formation of a monk group, to the Buddhist scriptures, all the way to the devil, after 81 difficulties, and finally to the Buddhist paradise, and finally to become a Buddha. ...

The final result of the novel is equality and perfection, which is what China people prefer: "Everyone is happy": the master and the apprentice learn from the scriptures and complete the positive result. Tang's monk was named merit Buddha; The Monkey King was named Doufo; Pig Bajie was named the messenger of the net altar; Friar Sand was named Golden Lohan; Bai was named Eight Dragons. Finally, he returned to the East and preached in the Tang Dynasty. At the end of the novel, "When people put their hands together and converted, they were all thinking: ... there is no holy sandalwood Buddha in the south, no Buddha defeated in the south, no Guanyin Bodhisattva in the south, and there is no general trend of reaching Bodhisattva in the south ..." In this ranking list of Buddhist circles, Sun Walker, who finally became a Buddha after suffering, "naturally" ranked ahead of Guanyin Bodhisattva. Then read: "If so, treat all the buddhas in the world: I would like to use this merit to solemnly worship the pure land of Buddha." Reward four kinds of kindness and help three kinds of ways. Learn bodhicitta with knowledge. Live in the same bliss country and report it all. The buddhas in ten directions and three realms, the bodhisattvas Mahayana and Prajna Paramita. "Finally, there is the sentence in the Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra, and The Journey to the West ends here-a story about the growth of the heart, the wonderful use of the heart, and the success of all this (heart). The original intention is clear.

Oh, Great Sage = Tathagata, it's you! From "mind ape" to "fighting to win Buddha"-Lao Sun has completed the counterattack of "fate" and returned to his nature!

I think at the beginning, it was the Tathagata who personally pressed the monkey on the Five Elements Mountain. Tathagata called Wukong's name, which was mostly unpleasant to listen to. "Your fellow", "beast", "naughty monkey" and "piss monkey" ... On the surface, they seem to be enemies who can't fight through heaven, so they should answer the old saying, "Fighting is fighting against right and wrong." Therefore, no matter what you think of this novel, it is the Tathagata who settled in jiusan in his later years, and he uses his boundless wisdom to review himself and the road he has traveled. ...

"A heartless snake swallowed an elephant" is always ridiculed by people. However, in Buddhism, this is a rare, noble and "seeking truth from facts" cause. In short, practicing meditation is to prove to yourself the "impossibility" of the law of the world. Look at the Monkey King again. This "human heart" has been exercised by the old man in the gossip furnace, so he has a pair of "critical eyes", and Buddhist scriptures rely on these eyes to distinguish monsters, whether they are true or false.

In the "human heart", being able to dominate the world is actually the highest demand for security. In a sense, mankind's pursuit of "official" and "wealth" is the "cause" of all people, because it is a direct embodiment of the ability to dominate the world. Before going to the west, "how can I not sit in heaven?" "I will definitely sit in Lingxiao Palace", and I will not let go. And what I want to sit in is obviously not an ordinary official position. He wants to be a face-saving role like Tathagata and Jade Emperor, and a big shot like that. As a result, a little person who doesn't understand the reality of officialdom at all, doesn't know the taste of official position and the law of heaven, and his experience of being cheated to heaven twice in his novels is related to this unforgettable thought. It can be said that it is precisely because of people's desire for fame and fortune that they are blinded by those extraordinary eyes. As the saying goes, this is "a snake with a lack of heart swallows an elephant." How small is this snake? As big as an elephant is, it is as big as it is, which is forbidden by world law and allowed by Buddhism! Try to say:

The monk's speech is so straightforward that it doesn't need an explanation from outsiders at all: cold and heat are even and equal in size, which is what Zen wants to prove-you can hand in your papers here. List of participants in the course. Congratulations, ten years of cold window, win! I haven't seen Pang Yun say that "ten parties gather together and have nothing to learn." This is a Buddhist field, and my heart is empty. " I didn't see Yin Tian say, "People say the north is cold, but I say the south is warm. I don't know people in cold and warm, but I know them in cold and warm. " Another monk, using "time" as a metaphor, also briefly said. Please explain it to a real person. "Yan Dan was built in a day, and the words of the ancient immortals are really audible."

There is also a pair of mentoring, who say from the perspective of "animal world" that the dialogue is more interesting and full of Zen:

"Bashu eats elephants and comes out at the age of three." Bashu, which first appeared in Shan Hai Jing, became a symbol of greed. Then Qu Yuan asked, "What's the big deal about snakes swallowing elephants?" It's also the snake here that fainted. The poet can't understand the size of the snake. In the form of poetry, he raised more than 170 questions to "Heaven" from beginning to end, covering various natural phenomena such as the formation of the universe, the opening of heaven and earth, the movement of the sun and the moon, and historical events from ancient times to the present, such as myths and legends of ancient humans, the rise and fall of dynasties, which are extremely valuable in the era when our ancestors respected Heaven. If this kind of questioning the spirit of natural phenomenon interpretation at that time,

History cannot assume that Buddhism has come. What would happen if Vimalakīrti saw Shan Hai Jing and Tian Wen? "Jin Sufo" will say that there is no difficulty, and then give a saying that "mustard meets sumeru". Gentlemen, join us:

So in the Journey to the West, the little guy (the Monkey King) finally became a big guy (anti-Buddha). What's so strange about it? This is not an inspirational and chicken soup statement, but a basic skill of meditation.

Listen, Shi Gao, who took the ice to make tea, shouted:

Small or not, big or not. Mountains and rivers are high, ice and fire are together-how did he achieve such a "the best on earth is his own, what's the difference?" Just as the mustard seeds burst open and turned into sumer, "the mustard seeds covered thousands of hectares at once, and there was sumer mountain in it."

Then, a little man who exploded from a stone into an ape and was full of ideals went through hardships and became a great man. Under the Buddhist concept of "equality", "not a problem". The Sixth Ancestor said, "Although people have north and south, Buddha's nature has no north and south. The monk's body is not the same as it is yet. What is the difference between Buddha's nature? " Therefore, Qu Zi asked, "What's the big deal about snakes swallowing elephants?" Cloud Gate says "small things happen".

In the novel, after this epoch-making event, the "one thing" left by Nu Wa-Lingshi has an unusual charm:

Decades after the novel came out, Hanshan took his apprentice to Kunshan, and he left a poem. Although a few words, its shock is not under the literary classics:

One day, Volkswagen followed me to Kunshan. Kunshan, a big city, is like a rockery in my eyes. I walked around the mountains and rivers with crutches and my feet lifted, and was immediately caught by the eyes of moths and disappeared. Isn't this Vimalakīrti's "humble faction"? When I talked about the realm of "seeing mountains is not mountains, and seeing water is not water", the public was all surprised and stood up one after another, asking why "people in the air" said this. This is what "I" (meaning in quotation marks, not Hanshan himself) means. In the eyes of bears, the so-called size, contingency and emptiness have become chaotic and accommodating. As a result, the land of mountains and rivers revealed its original appearance from the eyes of "microorganisms". The so-called "looking at mountains is looking at mountains, and water is water". The mountains and rivers of Nuoda are just "one punch and one footprint" in the eyes of people without self.

Finally, the monk associated this "one punch stone" with "as big as a sumeru mustard seed".

Attention, students: Have you seen the shadow of Lao Sun in Little Mustard?

Gentlemen, the monkey giggled and said, "This Tathagata is very slow! My old grandson turned over 108 thousand Li. His palm, Fiona Fang is less than a foot, how can he not jump out? " -Is this the "palm" of the Tathagata? It clearly explains Vimalakīrti's "mustard and sumeru". In this fairy tale, based on the plot of Mustard Sumeru, there is also an embroidered needle that can be hidden in the ear-the wishful golden hoop of Daming, 13500 kg. ":If you want to be an hour, Ying Ying is less than a handshake; When you are old, you will stand tall. The poem said: "The name Lingyang is a big stick, which is hard to see by Tibetans in the deep sea. Forming changes will soar and five colors will shine. "and," the good monkey king, is to pull out a handful of hair, chew it in your mouth, spit it out, say a spell and shout,' change!' "Become thousands of little monkeys."

When you are young, when you are young, when you are old, can you still tell who is who? I was drunk, too.

This is also the case. When I wrote "Go to Kunshan to show fellow scholars", I met Hanshan himself. Who am I? Hanshan made it clear that I = air man "Do I have time to wipe tears for the laity?" Again, what is the result of my lazy swallowing elephants? Snakes are as dead as two-just like "smart swords and careful stabbing" and "the method of mental death also dies".

The monk asked, "the swallowing stick has withered." Where are you going to settle down? "

Uh-huh, the monk replied, "Ask the air man."

Why didn't you tell us this was a "big shot"?
