I once loved you deeply.
Love? perhaps
It hasn't completely disappeared in my mind.
I hope he won't bother you again.
I don't want to upset you any more.
I once loved you silently and hopelessly.
I put up with shyness and jealousy.
I once loved you so sincerely and tenderly.
God bless you, another person will love you like me.
Pushkin's poems were written for Olenina. According to Orenina's granddaughter, in 1833, Pushkin added a sentence in French at the bottom of this poem, which was originally written in her grandmother's photo album: "It was a long time ago".
