Looking at the animal world, I found that lions hunt wildebeest, zebra and even buffalo. Why don’t lions hunt weaker gazelles? A buffalo can be much more difficult to deal with than a gazelle, right?
Gazelles are fast and good at sharp turns. Cheetahs will eat more gazelles and eat more. However, when there is a lack of food during the dry season, or when a lioness with her cubs needs more food, the lion will chase the gazelle on rugged ground. After all, if it runs and falls at the speed of life and death, it will give away the meat.
You see, antelopes are thin and small, but they are very agile and cannot be caught by lions.
Lion: That thing runs too fast. It’s hard for us to chase it at this speed! It wouldn’t be cost-effective to call other lions to catch them together! If you catch it, you won’t be able to eat enough. If you don’t catch it, the cost will be too high. In addition, they are chased by cheetahs every day, and their tendon meat has too little fat, making the meat taste bad. Think of a buffalo catching a whole family and eating it for a day. There is a lot of fat, juicy meat, and it will melt in your mouth when the sun is just 0.5 minutes cooked.
Thanks for the invitation
For lions, there is not enough food to replenish the calories consumed by hunting (including those that fail to hunt)
Similar to tigers, large and medium-sized ones need to be caught Deer (Red Deer, Sika Deer) and wild boars cannot be mainly relied on to catch roe deer, roe deer, and badger. The latter three are the main food of leopards in (North China), and lions need more food to take care of their families
Catching If not, save your energy
I guess there are only two main reasons
1. Can’t catch up, 2. Not enough to eat
