People with faith are aboveboard and selfless, while people without faith are "people", secretive and selfish;
People with faith have clear goals and directions in doing things, and they don't look back when they tear down the south wall. People who have no faith do it for a day, and monks knock for a day.
Those who believe in the world are ambitious, while those who don't believe in the world are narrow-minded and short-sighted;
People with faith are eternal, while people without faith are temporary.
Chairman Mao, Premier Zhou and Commander-in-Chief Zhu are great believers!
At the moment when utilitarianism or money worship is popular and the collective is lost, it seems that some of us are extravagant and some are imperative to discuss faith!
In my opinion, full of benevolence and morality, burning incense and worshipping Buddha all day, and superstitious about Feng Shui are not true beliefs. True faith is based on a comprehensive understanding of one's own cultural tradition or religious system (the only religion in China is Taoism), and with reference to the other three major religions in the world, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam, we can "take the essence and discard the dross" and integrate and absorb their teachings and thoughts, so as to sum up and establish a belief system suitable for one's own spiritual development and conducive to the healthy unity of human body and mind. The reason why the Zen Buddhism founded by Huineng, the sixth ancestor, has a large number of followers since the Tang Dynasty lies in Huineng's unique ability to understand people's hearts directly, so that believers can directly benefit from the profound Buddhism. Therefore, Zen initiated by Huineng, the sixth ancestor, was later called human Buddhism.
If "what's it like to live with faith", that is, once you have established a certain religious belief, from the perspective of sensory experience alone, I believe that for many people, it is "what you can only understand but can't say", which is very mysterious and sustainable. The most important thing is to bring a new outlook on life, morality, values or world outlook through your internal changes. Here, I want to prove it with the simple process of my mother's religious belief.
I was born in Xinxing, Guangdong, and my sixth ancestor Huineng's parents were in the 1960s. There are six brothers and sisters in my family, and both parents are illiterate. Before the 1980s, my life was very difficult. I was the first college student in several local villages with more than 1,000 people after liberation. At that time, I did bring some glory to my family and village. When my mother was in the countryside, she believed in Buddhism as well as the locals. She burns incense at home every year on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, and goes to Guo 'en Temple every year on her sixth birthday to pray for the safety of her family. My mother is inferior and weak, not good at words, but hard-working and tenacious, and she worked hard with her father to raise our brothers and sisters. She treats us equally, does not favor any brothers and sisters, and does not favor boys over girls. She is friendly to her neighbors and villagers, never quarrels with others and is helpful.
1995 after my daughter was born, my mother and I came to Zhongshan, Guangdong Province to help me take care of my daughter. 1997, she and I moved into a new house in a residential area in the city. Soon, my mother met a neighbor grandmother in Zhanjiang who was nearly eighty years old in the community (I don't know her name yet). She is a Christian, devout for ten years and kind-hearted. In less than half a year, I found that my mother no longer burned incense at home, and her face was more smiling and radiant than two years ago, becoming more peaceful and happy. I asked her what had happened recently. She said that the grandmother next door took her to the Christian church and joined the club a week ago. I know there are many Christians here, so neither my wife nor I object. The church is in the old district of the city center, about five kilometers away from home. My mother walked to church every Sunday and walked home with her neighbor's grandmother, so she persisted until the end of 2007, that is, ten years! Even though my wife and I can drive to pick up and drop off on Sunday, my mother insists on refusing every time, for fear of disturbing us and getting carsick easily, but the key is to communicate with grandma slowly when walking, which is good for our health. If it weren't for my negligence, I didn't realize that my mother's long-term constipation would eventually turn into colon cancer (I went to the hospital for colonoscopy in 2007, but my mother stopped halfway, and it was found to be terminal colon cancer in 2008), my mother's physical quality could have lived ten years longer!
In the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, as one of the two volunteer representatives of Zhongshan poets, I participated in the "China Poets' Volunteer Group for Disaster Relief". Other family members objected to my participation in this activity, but my mother encouraged me and hoped to do my best to help more people when the country was facing disaster. During the seven days and eight nights in Wenchuan, apart from attending interviews and sorting out manuscripts in some disaster areas, I was most concerned about my mother. I thought of the terrible disaster during the day and my skinny mother on her sickbed, crying almost every day! On Christmas Eve in 2008, my mother, who persisted for seven months after the operation, left us at the age of 74. During this period, her Christian sisters took turns from the local hospital to my hometown Xinxing (where her mother died) to take care of her mother at least 30 times! Their spirit of fraternity and selfless behavior once infected and inspired me and my family. My father and our brothers and sisters followed my mother's wishes, prayed after her death and buried her in a Christian ceremony. This is a local precedent. Before her death, her mother told her father to divide the 60,000 yuan saved in the passbook equally among her six brothers and sisters. It turns out that our brothers and sisters usually save the rest of their pocket money for her!
At this time, I don't know what to say to my mother, let alone to our next generation. In my mother's memory for nearly a year, my depression, which had already improved, recurred and I often suffered from insomnia. Are you spinning around in sympathy with your mother or are you pulling yourself together? I am faced with a choice.
What makes me feel strange is, as an illiterate from the countryside, what mysterious force supports my mother to the other side of life? What made her change from a Buddhist to a Christian? Is it doomed? Or is the mother's instinctive love prompting her to change her simple morality and values? If you are superstitious (I didn't know until I read the genealogy later), my mother was born on the sixth ancestor's birthday (the eighth day of the second lunar month) and coincidentally died on Christmas Eve (1February 24th). Is this destiny takes a hand or coincidence? As a believer in science, I prefer to believe the latter.
As far as "what is a good faith" is concerned, my mother's life experience and practice and Einstein's religious view can really bring me the following enlightenment:
First, the premise of belief is voluntary or involuntary. Except Islamic countries or some totalitarian countries ruled by a single ideology, in countries with freedom of religious belief, any individual's acceptance of a certain belief is not directly related to his growth background, education level, or even skin color and nationality;
Second, a good faith must conform to the believers' benign psychological development or the belief that can promote their personality to change in a benign direction, while superstition or cult is the opposite. Superstitions or cults usually lead to the distortion or even destruction of human nature. The benign changes of faith are usually manifested as: adhering to the basic precepts and teachings of the belief system, not hurting others' self-interest, fraternity, compassion, compassion, tolerance, selfless help, optimism and peace, being filled with persistent passion, gratitude, satisfaction or happiness, and some even establishing some mysterious connection with the universe or the ultimate ontology of God (through poetry creation, I often have mysterious experiences of communicating with everything). This, my mother made it. Before she died, she told us that she saw a light that led her to catch a glimpse of God, so she walked very calmly and peacefully. This is very remarkable for an illiterate, and certainly can't be compared with Mother Teresa.
Third, higher-level beliefs, in my understanding, should be a bridge to build your way back to the ultimate noumenon of the universe, and also a link for you to find and establish the unity between the inner spiritual order and the original order of the universe. This is the goal pursued by many poets, artists, composers, philosophers, psychologists and spiritual mentors, such as Goethe, Tagore, Tolstoy, Mahler, Descartes and Kant, mathematician Leibniz, psychologists Jung and Fromm, spiritual mentor Krishnamurti in the 20th century, Japanese Buddhist masterpiece Ikeda and so on.
Fourth, for scientists, what they seek most is the belief in the ultimate truth of the universe, which I define as scientific belief here. The most representative is Einstein's religious view. Here I quote Einstein's collected works on religion as follows:
"Science without religion is like a lame man, and religion without science is like a blind man."
"I think the religious feelings of the universe are the most powerful and noble driving force for scientific research. Without this enthusiasm, we can't make achievements in the pioneering work of theoretical science. "
"If you don't believe that our theoretical structure can grasp the reality, if you don't believe in the inner harmony of our world, there can be no science. This belief is and will always be the fundamental driving force for all scientific creations. "
"Science can only be created by people who pursue the truth wholeheartedly and are eager to understand things. However, the source of this feeling comes from the religious field. ..... I can't imagine a real scientist without this profound belief. "
Einstein's repeated emphasis on religious feelings here does not mean that he is an out-and-out religious person. Einstein, a Jew, was born in Germany and became famous in Switzerland. He was persecuted by the Nazis and eventually moved to America. However, he had nothing to do with Judaism and Christianity all his life, and eventually he did not become a believer in any Sect. He often laughed and called himself a homeless man without nationality. This is related to his innate yearning for freedom and his position as a citizen of the world, but the most fundamental thing is Einstein's scientific belief: I believe that with religious enthusiasm for scientific theoretical research and logical argumentation as a means, human beings will be able to grasp the physical reality and finally find the ultimate law of the universe-the theory of grand unification, for which he has devoted his life tirelessly but failed. In fact, Einstein's more mature humanitarian feelings in his later years, his strong sense of social responsibility as a world citizen and the idea of world government were all influenced by his efforts to seek the great unity of physics.
Finally, I want to emphasize that the complete lack of faith and the nowhere to put the soul are the two main reasons for today's social anxiety. Therefore, in today's messy society, it is even more valuable to regain faith and believe in what! I don't advocate that everyone blindly believes in religion. I think you don't have to be a religious person to experience the mysterious feelings brought by similar beliefs. Any activity that can bring you meditation and concentration, including sports, yoga, meditation, meditation, dancing, listening to classical music, practicing singing, painting, writing calligraphy, reading and writing, and even scientific research and exploration, can experience and establish the spiritual order and sustainable pleasure or happiness brought by similar religions as long as you are willing to persist. This is my own effective real experience through reading and writing for more than 30 years.

1, when it comes to money, the attitude is different.
A, people with faith are grateful, and people without faith think it is their own ability.
B, people with faith have a weak attitude towards money. People without faith think that money is life, life is money, and money and life are linked.
C. Believers think that money can be used for their own lives and help others, while non-believers think that money can be saved to treat themselves.
People have different understandings of life.
A. Believers believe that life is predestined, while unbelievers believe that life is in their own hands.
B, people with faith think that you should help others more when you are alive, while people without faith think that you can do your duty.
C, people with faith believe that there is a trial with a soul after death, and they should do more good deeds and accumulate virtue. People without faith think that people are dead.
There are different ways to treat people.
A, people with faith treat people sincerely and don't tell lies. When people without faith touch their own interests, they will be selfish and even deceive others.
B, people with faith are willing to sacrifice their time to help others, because he knows that it is everyone's duty to help those in need, while people without faith are unwilling to sacrifice their time to help others. They think it's stupid. For example, some people say that Lei Feng is a fool.
C, people with faith are willing to be volunteers for public welfare undertakings and defenders and disseminators of civilized undertakings, while people without faith are just the opposite, unwilling to be volunteers, which is a waste of energy.
Devout faith can inspire the nobility and greatness of human soul; When people encounter danger and confusion, only the most devout faith supports the courage to live; The overcoming of any difficulties and the realization of any great goals in human society are inseparable from the help of the power of faith.
Faith is a person's spiritual pillar, and there is a great difference between having faith and not having faith in life. A man of faith must be a man of high realm. When encountering difficulties or setbacks, he will not be depressed and decadent, but bear the burden of humiliation and save energy to make a comeback. When the spring breeze is proud, it will not hurt others.
People without firm beliefs are very different. If life is a little bumpy, you will complain, dare not take responsibility, lack big goals in life, find fault with things, make great things difficult and refuse to do small things. When life is smooth sailing, it is easy to be complacent and get carried away.
Faith does not necessarily make everyone do good, but it cannot be said that it is wrong to have faith. All along, whether we have faith or not, what we should do is to have a kind heart and make this society better.
Believers and unbelievers are completely different. Just like having a soul and not having a soul!
People with faith have infinite power, and nothing can make them yield. For example, China believed in the great and invincible Mao Zedong Thought! Faith is the source of strength for human progress. It is the basis for overcoming all difficulties and the strong will and belief of the enemy!
Without faith, it is like water without a source, a tree without a root. There is no source of vitality and kinetic energy! Therefore, a country or nation without faith is dangerous. A man without faith is like a walking corpse!
Therefore, people with faith and people without faith are completely different!
There are no people without faith in the world, just different beliefs. For example, some * * * party member believes in Marxism, some believe in my Buddha, some believe in God and Christ, and some only believe in power and money. Therefore, in a broad sense, people without faith do not exist. Belief in a narrow sense is only aimed at religions and parties with theoretical systems, and there are no believers, such as a large number of corrupt officials, rich and heartless people. They may claim to believe in a certain religion, but any religion is false. It makes people clean and honest, and never encourages corruption and exploitation. These people without faith are far from the walking dead. On the contrary, they are well-dressed and triumphant, and they are worshipped by thousands of people, one stronger than the other. Although there are immortals, they will also go to hell, but they live freely, are not afraid of the laws of heaven and law, spend money like water, enjoy endless beauty, wine and cars, and are arrogant and extravagant, which is not enough for civilians to hate.
On the issue of' faith', I want to talk about my thoughts and opinions and discuss them with you.
What is' faith'?
In the conceptual sense of language or writing, the so-called' belief' means' being or being' and believing, believing and firmly believing'; To look up and have a sense of admiration, the combination of the two forms an idea, which is an absolutely independent spirit that no one else can replace. Faith is free. What do you believe? This is a kind of self-choice. These are private matters, and others have no right to interfere. Different people have different beliefs, different reasons and purposes. Some people believe in God (Jehovah), some believe in Christ (Jesus), some believe in God (Virgin Mary), some believe in God (Muhammad), some believe in Buddhism (Sakyamuni), some believe in Taoism (Laozi), and some believe in Marxism-Leninism Mao Zedong Thought. Some people advocate natural science and regard science as their lifelong struggle and pursuit goal; Some people don't believe in anything, just want to live in the real world, naturally and realistically. However, no matter what kind of faith and confidence you have, what kind of purpose you want to achieve and what kind of goal you want to achieve, I want to remind you: what ways and means do you want to achieve your so-called' faith' goals and objectives? What is the basis of your firm belief? Can you agree with yourself and give yourself a reasonable logical explanation Faith is a powerful spiritual force, the motivation and support of personal life, the hope and desire of future life, and the road and direction of life. It is a major choice and needs to be treated seriously and correctly. Once a personal belief is formed, you must be convinced and determined to do it, and you must uphold integrity and not betray it, because from the day you believe in yourself, you have made a solemn commitment to your' belief', with only one direction and goal. Otherwise, it is shameful not only to betray one's faith, but also to betray one's soul, which is a sin. Those who have been baptized before God; Be warned before the Buddha; Anyone who took an oath before party flag should keep in mind his mission, responsibility and responsibility, and honor his promise at the cost of his life, otherwise, he might as well live a more real, practical and practical life without faith.
People of faith
Under normal circumstances, it is more objective, fair and kind to have a steelyard in mind, to be fair and trustworthy, and to know what can and can't be done in the world, and what goes around comes around comes around.
Special circumstances: according to the day.
A man without faith
In any case: doing things only for self-interest, lawless, insatiable, difficult to fill vacancies, unscrupulous to achieve their goals, neither good nor evil, but also shameless, shameless, dirty, self-righteous, self-righteous, only believe in yourself.
A life without faith is to refuse to sacrifice anything, take interests as the starting point and destination, measure and supplement all the happiness in your life as interests, and let your feelings in human nature appear in front of others in all kinds of haggle over every ounce, making yourself unpopular. A life with faith always plays the role of self-dedication in various occasions and efforts, but conscious sacrifice has become an unswerving pursuit in life, and everyone has the same respect. All the sufferings in life are shared by everyone, but after enjoying masturbation, they are shared by everyone. Respect is formed, and the happiness in life is endless.
