Lingbi Goose Water, Sang Yu Yanziliang.
A bed of spring leeks is green, and ten miles of rice flowers are fragrant.
In prosperous times, you don't have to plow and weave.
Interpretation of vernacular: Yellow rice wine flag attracts guests to come and have a happy drink, and you can only see the faint villa far away. Pure geese play in the water spinach room, and swallows walk among mulberry trees and elms. In the spring breeze, a large area of leek grows green, and the rice fields are filled with the fragrance of pollen. There is no hunger and cold in prosperous times, so why bother to plow and weave all day?

works appreciation
This is a five-character poem written by Lin Daiyu on behalf of Jia Baoyu, which depicts the beautiful scenery of the "Huange Villa" in the Grand View Garden. The title of the poem was designated by Princess Yuan. This is a very excellent poem about scenery. At the beginning, the poet cut into the topic of poetry in two sentences with concise and clear brushstrokes. The phrase "Apricot Curtain", on the one hand, not only conveys the vibrant atmosphere of spring breeze, apricot red and willow green, and wine flags flying; On the other hand, it is a clever combination of the word "apricot curtain" in the poem title.
The sentence "in sight" describes the faint scenery of the grange in the distance, and expresses the poet's yearning for the pastoral farm life, thus clarifying this poem. Such a poem is divided into two sentences, and the syntax is round and natural.
The following four sentences in "Lingbi" describe the villa scenery in the eyes of guests: here, geese play freely on the clear water covered with Lingbi leaves and floating leeks, and swallows rush out of the mulberry forest and build nests between the beams to keep warm; In the endless fields, strips of leeks grow green in the spring breeze, and a rice field is filled with the fragrance of pollen, which seems to indicate a bumper harvest. In this ideal "promised land", everything lives happily and peacefully.
From the perspective of landscape painting, the poet's brushwork is quite delicate: he pays attention to the alternation of movement, the coordination of color and taste, and the combination of point and surface, especially the two sentences of "Lingbi", which are all composed of nouns. Without high language skills, the use of this special grammar is difficult to succeed. But for a talented woman like Lin Daiyu, it is just a trick.
The last two sentences of the poem: "You don't have to be busy with farming in the prosperous times", and the whole poem ends with "ode to the sage", which is the so-called "elegance in music". In Ode to Saints, the poet praised the peaceful and prosperous times without famine and cold, which is a whitewash of reality. It shows that Lin Daiyu, as an educated woman, still lacks sufficient understanding of the social reality at that time, that is, "water is not collected early, rats steal bees, and the people are in trouble."
However, it must be pointed out that in general, poems that should be written often need to be elaborated with a few words of praise, so it is understandable that Lin Daiyu is not exempt from customs here.
