Wang Yucheng was the most important representative of Bai-style poets in the early Song Dynasty. He was a famous litterateur and politician in the early Northern Song Dynasty. He was born in poverty and was literate at the age of nine. Song Taizong was promoted to the first place in the eighth year of Taiping Xingguo, and successively served as Right Pickup, Zuo Si's Advice, Zhi Zhi's Patent and Hanlin's Bachelor.
