When Fan Zhongyan was guarding Qiantang, many people became officials after his recommendation, including later celebrities such as Fu Bi and Di Qing. Fan Zhongyan recommended him as an official. At this time, Su Lin's official position was a county inspector in Hangzhou, that is, an official who often needed to patrol the city.
Such officials are naturally not like some officials who sit in the office all day. They had more opportunities to appear in front of the chief executive, so Fan Zhongyan didn't notice Su Lin, and didn't even know who Su Lin was.
Su Lin, who is always thinking about promotion, is naturally very dissatisfied with this. After all, everyone thinks that he can struggle less for a few years, easily become a master and reach the peak of his life. With this emotion, Su Lin felt unbearable, so he wrote a letter to Fan Zhongyan.
Su Lin: In order to get promoted, I also worked hard and left two famous poems for future generations. As a scholar, Su Lin naturally won't write a cover letter to Fan Zhongyan in a very old-fashioned way. He wrote thousands of words with tears in his eyes, then moved Fan Zhongyan with emotion, and then sought opportunities for promotion.
Su Lin has great confidence in his literary talent. He decided to write a poem, a poem with only two sentences, the content is:
The moon comes first near the water tower, and flowers and trees are easy to spring in the sun.
The superficial meaning of this poem is also easy to understand. As long as it is a balcony near the water, it can always be illuminated by moonlight first. The flowers and trees that are biased towards the sun can always experience spring first.
Fan Zhongyan is a great writer. He saw two poems by Su Lin and naturally understood the meaning behind the superficial phenomenon.
