As a bodhi tree,
My heart is like a mirror.
Always rubbing,
Don't make dust.
-Shen Xiu's Ode to Practice
Shen Xiu is the founder of Beizong Zen. He compared man's body and mind to a bodhi tree and a mirror platform. The human body is the Buddha's body, and the heart is clean. Just because of persistence, I have a relative understanding, so that I am often contaminated by dirt.
Therefore, in order to keep the heart clean, it is necessary to "wipe it often and not dust it", that is, through perseverance, we can gradually realize enlightenment and become a Buddha.
Beautiful poems vividly condense the three stages of Buddhist practice: abstinence, determination and wisdom, and embody the basic world outlook of Buddhism.
I will walk until the river blocks my way, then sit down and look at the rising clouds.
After middle age, I have a strong kind heart, and I didn't settle down at the edge of Mount Zhongnan until my later years.
Interest concentration is often unique to play and have a happy thing to enjoy self-appreciation.
Sometimes go to the end of the water to seek the source, or sit and watch the ever-changing clouds rise.
Occasionally I met a village elder in the Woods, and I chatted with him until I often forgot to go home.
-Wang Wei's "My retreat in Zhongnanshan"
Wang Wei's poems and paintings are full of Zen, and he is known as "Shi Fo" in the history of literature. What does "water poverty" mean? Climbing up, the stream finally disappeared. The climber just sat down and watched the clouds rise on the mountain. It turns out that water turns into clouds, and clouds can turn into rain. There will be water in the mountain stream, so why despair?
So is the realm of life. The process from water poverty to cloud to rain is like a person encountering great difficulties in the process of spiritual practice, including physical obstacles, psychological obstacles and environmental obstacles. If you give up because of this, you should return your thoughts to the angle of starting your heart. There was nothing at first, but looking back at the situation at that time and now, isn't it a long way?
If you don't mind your own business, this is a good time on earth.
There are flowers in spring and moons in autumn.
There is cool wind in summer and snow in winter;
If you don't mind your own business,
This is a good time on earth.
-Hui Kai Zen master "Ode to the Normal Mind and the Tao"
These poems have the flavor of mountains and rivers, and some people can understand them at once. Zen pays attention to epiphany, and this poem also presents a gesture of pointing fingers at the ignorant to some extent. Mind your own business, that is, worry. The key is whether we can find the way to the romantic realm in any environment.
A hundred flowers bloom in spring, a cool breeze blows gently in summer, a bright moon is in the sky in autumn, and it is snowy in winter. Wind, flowers, snow and the moon can symbolize open-mindedness in different periods, that is, enlightened people can remain calm and calm. To put it bluntly, if you are open-minded, calm and not disturbed by trivial matters, then every day and every season is a good time.
Life is like a journey, and I am also a pedestrian.
If not, replace your door with a fire.
The world is full of red dust.
When I meet with a smile, it's still warm as spring.
Your heart is like an ancient well, not water, and the peak is like a bamboo pole in autumn.
Melancholy and lonely sails set out all night,
Send away Danyue Wei Yun.
Don't frown before bottling.
Life is a difficult journey, you and I are both passers-by, just like stopping at different hotels.
-Su Shi's "Lin Jiangxian sends money to Mu Fu"
Life is like sending, Li Bai's "Preface to the Spring Banquet in Peach Blossom Garden" says: "Those who are rich in heaven and earth go against everything, those who kill time, and those who have passed through a hundred generations." Since everyone is a passer-by between heaven and earth, why should we care about the reunion and reunion in front of us? By comforting friends and releasing their hearts, we can not only be moved, but also reveal all the old attitudes towards life.
Although Su Shi actively joined the WTO all his life, he had distinct political ideals and opinions, but on the other hand, he was deeply influenced by Laozi and Zhuangzi's Buddhist thoughts. Whenever the officialdom is frustrated and in a difficult situation, he can always "handle it with ease" and "break up in discord", respond to external interference with a calm and comfortable attitude, and show his broad-minded and free-spirited feelings of being detached and happy.
Love leads to trouble, and love leads to fear.
All love will last for a long time.
There are many fears in life, and life is in danger of exposure.
Trouble comes from love, fear comes from love.
If you leave your lover, you have no worries and fears.
-"The King of Wonderful Colors asks the law"
Most men and women are entangled in the world, and it is always difficult to leave the word love and hate. Buddha said, "Love breeds trouble, and love breeds fear; If you leave your lover, there will be no worries and fears! " It's about Buddhism and Taoism. It is about people's secular desires, greed and ignorance.
Buddhist practice pays more attention to introspection and achieves the realm of consciousness through Zen. What is Zen? Probably everyone has their own "Zen" in mind. From the perspective of modern people, Zen has a wider meaning. A flower and a tree is Zen, so is eating and drinking Lazarus. Everything in the world is Zen, and there is a reason for Buddhism.
Zen is a transliteration of the Sanskrit word Zen, which originally means meditation. Through yoga meditation, you can meditate, look back at yourself, get rid of love-hate entanglements, cut off greed and delusion, and thus eliminate all external influences, understand the truth of everything in the world with people's original heart, and master the ubiquitous Buddha nature.
6 Ask He Junneng? The heart is far from being self-centered.
Building a house is human, and there are no horses and chariots.
What can you do? The heart is far from being self-centered.
Picking chrysanthemums under the east fence, you can see Nanshan leisurely.
The mountains are getting better and better, and the birds are back.
That makes sense. I forgot what I wanted to say.
-Tao Yuanming's fifth day of drinking.
Many people in the world are familiar with "picking chrysanthemums under the east fence and seeing Nanshan leisurely", while others prefer "asking what you can do is far from self-centered". Tao Yuanming's poems are as natural as jade, expressing his feelings directly without any affectation. "When you ask what you can do, your heart is far from self-centered." This artistic conception is the lifelong pursuit of every modern person, but it can never be realized.
In fact, sometimes, we should gather our body and mind, stay away from some worldly pursuits of fame and fortune, and our mood will naturally become calm. Gradually, people and society will be more real and natural!
The world laughs at me for being crazy, and I laugh at others for not being able to see through it.
I hope I die of old age. I don't want to bow my head in front of horses and chariots.
Cars and horses are rich and interesting, and hops are poor.
If wealth is better than poverty, one is underground and the other is in heaven.
If we compare Hua San to chariots and horses, he will deprive me of my leisure.
Others laugh at me for being crazy, and I laugh at others for not being able to see through it.
There are no graves of Hao Jie in Wuling, no flowers, no wine, and no hoes to plow the fields.
-Excerpted from Tang Bohu's Song of the Peach Blossom Temple.
If you compare wealth with the poor, one is in the ground and the other is in the sky. "Cars, dust and horses are just the tastes of the rich, while flowers and wine are destined to become attached to the poor. If measured by money and material things, the lives of these two kinds of people are very different, but from another angle, those rich people have to be nervous all the time and walk on thin ice carefully, while the so-called poor people can have more leisure and fun, but live more naturally, truly, easily and happily.
However, the real meaning is not understood by everyone. Don't you see "people laugh at me for being crazy"? And "I", however, disagreed: "I laughed at others and I can't see it." Don't you see that kings and princes who used to be all-powerful and rich are now? Not only is the body gone, but the situation has also fallen. Even the flowers and wine they despised before their death can't be counted on, and even the tombs are not guaranteed.
The Buddha is far away from Lingshan, and Lingshan is only in your heart.
Buddha is far from Lingshan,
Lingshan is only in your heart.
Everyone has a Ling Mountain Tower,
So I can learn from Ling Mountain Tower.
-Zhang Zi, Zen master of Wu Chao, The Journey to the West, Wu Cheng'en
Buddhism and Taoism are integrated, that is, Buddhism and Taoism are integrated. Tao gives birth to one, two, three and everything. There is no way, and it is useless to look around at this cost.
Master Huineng said in the Six Ancestors' Tanjing: A saint seeks his heart but not Buddha, and a fool seeks Buddha without his heart. There is no Buddha outside your heart, and your purity is Buddha. If we heal our hearts, have pure and upright thoughts, kind words and deeds, and contented hearts, our lives will naturally be stable, peaceful and happy.
Peace of mind is the way, and retrogression is the progress.
Put your hands in the field,
You can see the water in the sky by looking down.
Inner peace is the way,
Backward is forward.
-Bao monk "Back"
There is no denying that there is injustice in the world. Sometimes our retrogression may make some people push their luck, but if the villain succeeds, he will never have the last laugh. People are eager to learn everything, and the most difficult thing to learn is tolerance. There are many opportunities for people to collide, and many things happen intentionally or unintentionally. Therefore, endure a calm for a while and take a step back.
Of course, tolerance is by no means laissez-faire, nor is it synonymous with cowardice and indulgence. Tolerance is not about not wanting dignity, but a sign of maturity, calmness, reason and openness. There is an old saying: those who suffer grow up and can stand on their own feet. The so-called forbearance is not to submit to humiliation, but a kind of generosity; Retreat is not fear, but humility and tolerance.
10 bodhi is undocumented, and today I know that I am me.
Never grow good fruit in your life,
I only like killing and setting fires.
Suddenly pull open the golden rope,
Break the jade lock here.
Hey! The tide comes from Qiantang River,
Only today will I know that I am me!
-Lu, the son of Water Margin.
Buddhism has the theory of three realms of life, namely:
Seeing mountains is mountains, and seeing water is water;
Seeing mountains is not mountains, and seeing water is not water;
See mountains or mountains, see water or water.
Bodhi is undocumented, and now I know that I am me. In other words, once we let go of all kinds of persistence, including the idea of "letting go", we will not be born. At this time, our original pure self or Buddha's heart and Tathagata will be revealed.
People are people, you don't have to be human. The world is the world, so there is no need to be careful. This is for being a man and dealing with the world. In the course of life, the three stages interact with each other, sometimes regarding mountains as mountains, sometimes regarding mountains as mountains, and sometimes regarding mountains as mountains. After reflection, I finally understand that life is to endure, and it needs more experience and more insights.
