Four Seasons Pastoral Miscellaneous Glory (Ⅰ)

Song Dynasty: Fan Chengda

During the day, weeding in the fields and rubbing hemp thread at home at night, the men and women in the village took on all the housework.

Although the children don't plow and weave, they also learn a kind of melon in the shade of mulberry trees.

Poet Fan Chengda, as famous as Lu You, Yang Wanli and You Mao, is one of the four famous poets in the Southern Song Dynasty. He is one of the representatives of pastoral poets. In his later years, he wrote 60 poems "Four Seasons and Pastoral Miscellaneous Interests", which best reflected his poetic characteristics and reflected the hard work and hard life of farmers. This idyllic poem is fresh in style and describes the tense working atmosphere in rural areas in early summer, which is interesting to read. He wrote poems, starting from Jiangxi Poetry School, learning from famous poets in Tang and Song Dynasties and writing ci, which was similar to Qin Guan at first, and then came to Su Shi.

Fan Chengda (1126-1193), known as Shi Hu lay man.
