London 2: Poets and Nightingales (Keats' Former Residence)

In the northern suburb of London, near the continuous green land Heather in hampstead, there is a quiet two-story white house with a garden. Keats, a young poet, once lived here and wrote many sweet and sad poems. According to his last wish, the poet wrote on the tombstone in Rome, "Here lies a man whose name was written in the water", which means that his name was written on the water, and it was fleeting and there was no masterpiece handed down from generation to generation. However, the poet Shelley died with a book of Keats' poems, and Wilde's tears kept Keats' memory forever. Even my favorite sci-fi epic Hyperion is based on Keats' aesthetics. The poet's name is written on the water and stays in our hearts.

At the age of 8, his father died unexpectedly on horseback. Six years later, his mother died of tuberculosis, so Keats became an orphan. Although there is a guardian, it is not without food and clothing. After studying medicine successfully, I worked in Guy's Hospital in London, and finally my life was settled. However, work and hobbies can't be balanced. 18 18 12 In June, the young Keats quit his job as a doctor and concentrated on writing. At this time, his works were generally criticized, and the Guardian also felt that this self-destructive behavior was simply stupid. Keats came to this white house and rented two rooms.

Poets used to despise marriage and love, thinking that it would hinder their writing. Fate has other plans. 18 19 years, he met his beloved fanny and lived in this house. Although they are neighbors separated by a wall, they often correspond. 1820 In September, a poet with severe tuberculosis moved to Rome with the donation of a friend, and died suddenly five months later at the age of 25.

Influenced by the French Revolution and Rousseau, many romantic poets emerged in Britain at that time. They criticized industrialization for distorting human nature, seeking personal liberation and attaching their feelings to nature. The picture below shows six representatives. Wordsworth, Coleridge and Blake are on the top left; From the bottom left are Keats, Shelley and Byron. My favorites are Wordsworth, Blake and Keats.

It's cloudy today with sporadic rain. Although it is midsummer, it is only less than 20 degrees Celsius. Get out of Hamstead Heath Station in the North Second District of London and walk for ten minutes to Keats' former residence. The garden outside the house is free to enter, so many people read and play in it. /kloc-At the beginning of the 9th century, it was still a village. Keats is not rich, but the rented house and garden are spacious. It is said that Keats wrote Ode to a Nightingale under a tree in the garden.

I plan to travel at 3 o'clock this afternoon. I didn't know until I asked at the ticket office that the volunteers had a holiday today and the tour was cancelled. It's just as well. I knew something about Keats before, so I went to visit it myself at will.

Opposite the ticket office on the first floor is the gift shop and living room, with few items. Light blue wallpaper, French window with white gauze curtain, Keats' statue, facial mold, medical notes, medical equipment and doctor's qualification certificate are all displayed in it, which all mark Keats' early life.

I was immediately attracted by this room after crossing the corridor. The whole room is light blue and elegant, with large French windows and a new green lounge chair facing the garden. Above the fireplace is a warm orange lamp, and on the other side is a crystal pot and a wine glass. This is exactly what the dream family study looks like! I lay on the sofa and looked at the label on it. It turned out that Keats was tired of lying in the bed on the second floor after his illness. So I set up a lounge chair here, and I can see Fanny in the garden.

After a while, other visitors came in, and I got up and went to another room. When I first saw a portrait of Keats, I painted it in this room now! The staff keeps the room in the picture, and visitors can imitate the posture in the picture. I wonder if they can get Keats' aura?

The last room on the first floor is a red hall, surrounded by windows. It makes people feel very transparent and bright. I used to live with Keats by a wall, but now the wall has been torn down. The staff also put a little nightingale doll, which would make the nightingale cry if pinched. In summer, birds sing here, as if living in the mountains. Keats moved away from central London, away from dark chimneys and busy factories, and came here to inspire countless inspirations. I think Thoreau was right. People's hearts always yearn for nature, and only in nature can people get real peace and comfort.

On the second floor is the poet's bedroom, a simple window and a bedside table. And Fanny's bedroom, with fashionable clothes and jewels. In fact, they really fell in love for a short time, less than 1 year. Keats initially thought Fanny of 18 was an elegant and fashionable silly girl. After falling in love, there is no financial source, so I can't get married, so I got engaged with a ring. Keats died of a serious illness, Fanny got married and had children, but she kept the ring until her death.

In this room, you can write down your messages and feelings, or you can sit on the sofa and listen carefully to Keats' poetry recitation. Spend a moment quietly with the fragments of inspiration and memory left by these poets.

After visiting the second floor, go down to the basement. Keats' sentence "Poetry makes everything and places interesting" is written on the wall of the entrance. Well, the kitchen, dining room and storage room must be very interesting. After all, they are food! In one of the rooms, there is a small movie playing in a loop, each of which is 10 minutes, briefly introducing Keats' life.

After reading it, I went into the kitchen and saw a mother taking pictures of her child dressed as a maid with great interest. It turns out that the staff put two sets of maid clothes with different styles and a set of outing clothes, which children can wear to take pictures. Many scenic spots in Britain will put some suitable costumes, such as the medieval chain mail in Wallace Museum and Tudor ladies' headdress in London Museum. Visitors can wear them and take pictures for free. At this time, the child has taken off the maid costume and turned into a little boy. This is the real mother.

At this point, the little house has been visited. I went back to the garden to find a tree, sat down and read for a while, and didn't leave until the rain turned nasty.
