Is the Vietnamese version of the Forbidden City modeled after the Forbidden City in Beijing?

Hue Imperial City is located in Hue, the ancient capital, and was built in 1802. It is the largest and well-preserved ancient architectural complex in Vietnam. Hue Imperial City imitates the architectural style of the Forbidden City and has many similarities with the Forbidden City in Beijing. Even the name of the palace is roughly the same. However, due to the limited construction conditions in Vietnam at that time, Hue Imperial City took nearly 30 years to build, which was twice as long as the construction time of the Forbidden City in Beijing.

Walking into Hue Imperial City, you will find that its pattern and architectural style are similar to those of Beijing City and Beijing Forbidden City. There are halls such as Hall of Supreme Harmony, Qinzheng Hall, Guangdian, Yanshou Palace and Royal Hospital. In addition, it is also the place where Vietnamese emperors lived in those years, which has a sense of mystery and dignity. Although Hue Imperial City is not as big as the Forbidden City in Beijing, it is a very splendid building in Vietnam, a great achievement in the history of Vietnamese architecture and the pride of local people.
