Du Mu is the grandson and son of Prime Minister Du You. He was called "Xiao Du" to distinguish him from Du Fu, and was also called "Du Xiaoli" with Li Shangyin. He was later called "Du Fanchuan" because he lived in South Fan Chuan Villa in Chang 'an in his later years.
