In Three Hundred Tang Poems, why did Du Fu's poems far surpass those of great poets such as Li Bai and Wang Wei?

At present, the current edition of 300 Tang Poems contains 3 13 poems. There are 77 authors in the book (including My West and Anonymous), and the four poets who choose the most poems are Du Fu, Li Bai, Wang Wei and Li Shangyin. Of the 3 13 poems in 300 Tang Poems, 13 1 is a metrical poem, and 100 is an archaic poem and a quatrain. 13 1 Among the poems, Du Fu accounted for 23, far exceeding Li Bai and Wang Wei. Li Bai's main achievements are ancient poems and quatrains, so the proportion of choosing poems is reasonable.

39 Du Fu, five poems with five verses, nine poems with seven verses, 10 pentameter, 13 pentameter, 1 pentameter, 1 pentameter; 29 poems by Li Bai, 6 poems by Five Classics, 9 poems by Seven Classics, 5 poems by Five Laws, 7 laws 1 poem, 3 poems by Five Excerpts and 5 poems by Seven Excerpts; 29 poems by Wang Wei, 5 poems by Five Classics, 3 poems by Seven Classics, 9 poems by Five Laws, 4 poems by Seven Laws, 5 poems by Five Qualities and 3 poems by Seven Qualities; There are 24 songs by Li Shangyin, seven ancient songs 1 song, five songs by five laws, seven songs by seven laws 1 song, five songs by five poles1song and seven songs by seven poles.

Judging from the above data, Du Fu chose 39 songs, which exceeded the 10 songs of Li Bai and Wang Wei. Among the 300 Tang poems with few poems, it is really "far beyond".

Why is this happening? Xiao Lou thinks there are three reasons. First of all, the poems selected in 300 Tang Poems are mainly metrical poems, and Du Fu represents the highest achievement of metrical poems in the Tang Dynasty. According to genre classification, there are five ancient poems, seven ancient poems, five laws and seven laws, five poems and seven poems, among which there are five and forty ancient poems, including seven Yuefu poems; Forty-two ancient poems, including 14 Yuefu poems, 80 Five Laws, 51 Seven Laws and one Yuefu poem; Five musts and thirty-seven, Yuefu eight; There are 60 four-character poems and 9 Yuefu poems.

Secondly, Du Fu's poems are far more than those of Li Bai and Wang Wei. Du Fu left more than 1400 poems, Li Bai left more than 1000 poems, and Wang Wei left only more than 400 poems. For the top great poets, the more poems they leave behind, the more good poems they have, and naturally the more poems they have been selected into the 300 Tang poems.

Thirdly, the content of Du Fu's poems is more in line with the mainstream ideology of society. Since the Tang Dynasty, Confucianism has been regarded as the mainstream ideology in every dynasty. Scholars should naturally follow the example of poets who conform to the mainstream ideology.

As can be seen from the titles of the three poets, the poet Li Bai prefers Taoism, while Shi Fo Wang Wei prefers Buddhism. Only the poet sage Du Fu is the most standard Confucian poet. The title of poet saint clearly established his highest position in the hearts of traditional literati. As a popular reading, there are 300 Tang poems, and Du Fu's poems should of course be selected more.
