A Brief Introduction to the Collection of Ye Wan's Works

More than half of the authors of the poems are anonymous and very extensive, including emperors, empresses, princes, ronins, beggars and prostitutes, covering almost all classes in Japan at that time. There are hundreds of contracted and unsigned authors and more than 500 contracted authors. Most authors are outstanding celebrities and professional poets. Representative poets include Emperor Tianzhi, Emperor Tianwu, King Ota, Ma Lu Persimmon, Gao Shi in Black, Yoshiyoshi Yamamoto, Escort, Ma Lu Gao Qiao Worm, Chiren Yamabe, Yoshitomo Noyamachi and others.

In the second half of the eighth century, a collection of peace songs, Ye Wan Collection, appeared. The book has 20 volumes and more than 4,500 choruses (including Long song and short songs). The earliest written documents in Japan appeared at the beginning of the eighth century, namely "Nara Period" (7 10-784). The representative works of written literature in this period include Ancient Stories and Chiba Collection. At that time, Japan had not created "pseudonyms", and both books were written with the help of Chinese characters. The former Chinese characters are not only used to express meaning, but also to express sound; The latter Chinese characters are mainly used as phonetic symbols.

According to the content, it can be divided into miscellaneous songs, Wen Xiang, elegy and so on. Miscellaneous songs cover a wide range, such as four monsoon objects, lucky trips, hunting trips and so on. Most of them are poems that lovers, relatives and friends ask each other emotionally; Elegy mainly refers to the poems mourning the dead at the funeral, as well as the last works and works remembered by future generations. In addition, the poetry anthology also widely collects oral folk songs "Dong Ge" and "Song of Preventing People". The former is a folk song circulating in eastern Japan, and the latter is a poem of soldiers guarding the border. Both of them showed pure feelings and simple style. It is particularly worth mentioning that the poetry anthology also selected two songs of beggars, which poured out the voices of civilians and slaves at the bottom of society. In terms of form, poetry collections are mainly divided into three types: Long song, short songs and revolving songs. Among them, there are 265 Long song, 4,207 short songs, 62 revolving songs, lotus songs and Buddha poems 1, 2 Chinese poems and 22 Chinese poems.

The People's Literature Publishing House has the complete Ye Wan Collection translated by Jin Wei and Yan Wu. The earliest Chinese translation was 1940s Selected Translation by Qian Daosun, which was published in Japan in 1957 and reprinted in Japan and China for many times. The Yang Lie translation published in 1984 is the first Chinese translation in history.
