Where did sonnets originate?

Sonnet is a kind of lyric poem in Europe, transliterated as "Shanglai Style", which originated from Provence sonnets. At first, it generally refers to short poems popular among the people in the Middle Ages, accompanied by singing and musical instruments. Iacobo Da Liantini, a medieval Italian Sicilian poet, was the first scholar to use this form of poetry and make it have strict meter.
