Is the soaring base for scientific experiments of light and small UAVs along the Chaobai River in Beijing-Tianjin New Town open?

The soaring base for scientific experiments of light and small unmanned aerial vehicles, located on Chaobai River in Beijing-Tianjin New Town, Baodi District, Tianjin, was put into operation on September 23rd. This base is the first dedicated standardization base for UAV application, management and scientific research in China.

Aoxiang Base was established by the Institute of Geographical Resources of China Academy of Sciences, local governments and enterprises with the support of the National Remote Sensing Center, the Air Traffic Control Center of the State Sports General Administration and the Air Force, according to the strategic cooperation agreement between the Institute and Tianjin Baodi District Government. The site has scientific experimental airspace specially approved by the Air Force, R&D area, hangar and Aoxiang block where supporting enterprises, scientific research institutions and training institutions are stationed.

As one of the experimental bases of UAV Application and Control Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the base provides technical and platform support for Chinese Academy of Sciences to complete the research and development and testing of national scientific research tasks. The research that has been included in the scientific research plan includes UAV network observation, electronic geo-fence management and control system, key technology of low-altitude route construction, radar load platform integration, composite rotor, platform load lightweight standardization technology and so on.
