There are many famous water conservancy projects in China, and Dujiangyan in Sichuan is the oldest one that comes to mind. In midsummer, I worship Dujiangyan and feel the grandeur and magnificence of this water conservancy project that has been benefiting the people of Sichuan for two thousand years.
The majestic green hills and flowing water are a magnificent landscape painting. Dujiangyan is located in the west of Dujiangyan City, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on the Minjiang River in the west of Chengdu Plain. It was built in the last years of Qin Zhao Haoqi (about 256 BC ~ 25 BC1year). It is a large-scale water conservancy project organized by Li Bing and his son, the magistrate of Shu County, on the basis of excavating the turtle spirit of their predecessors. It is mainly composed of a water distributor, a flying sand weir and a bottle mouth. The Chengdu Plain, now known as the "Land of Abundance", was not like this in ancient times. This used to be a place where floods and droughts were very serious.
The lamentation and tragic situation of "until two rulers crowded past in the foggy age of this area" and "man or fish became a turtle" in Li Bai's Shu Dao Nan is a true portrayal of that era. It can be seen that Dujiangyan is important in Chengdu Plain. You can see the whole Dujiangyan from An Lan Bridge and climb the mountain road. Located at the foot of Lei Yu Mountain on the east bank of Minjiang River, Erwang Temple commemorates the digger of Dujiangyan, China, Li Bing, the county magistrate of Qin Shu, and his son Jiro. Erwang Temple is an important part of Dujiangyan, a world cultural heritage. Founded in the Southern and Northern Dynasties, surrounded by green trees, the environment is very quiet.
