The Original Text and Appreciation of Juyi in Bai Fei in Qing Dynasty

Bai Juyi

Pride is all over the road, and the light of pommel horse can be seen in the fine dust.

Excuse me, who are those people? Passers-by replied that they were eunuchs, officials of the emperor.

Yi zhu is a doctor and Ziyi is a general;

Boasting his identity, he came to the army at the dinner party, in large numbers, and the scene was grand.

Zunyi Jiuyun, land and water Luo Bazhen;

There is an orange as a fruit in Dongting Lake. This excellent fish tastes delicious.

They remained calm after the party, but became arrogant when they were drunk.

However, when there was a drought in the south of the Yangtze River, there was a tragic scene in Quzhou.

Slightly Fat is one of Qin Zhongyin's ten poems.

The preface to Qin Zhongyin points out: "When Zhenyuan and Yuanhe are in harmony, I will be in Chang 'an, and there is enough sorrow between hearing and seeing;" Because of the direct singing, it was named "Qin Zhongyin". " Therefore, being light and fat is a true portrayal of social life at that time. The poem entitled "light fat" is the abbreviation of "light fur and fat horse", which comes from "A pure son should be neat, ride a fat horse and wear light fur" in the Analects of Confucius. Refers to luxury and luxurious life enjoyment.

This poem can be divided into two parts: "The first part of fourteen sentences fully exaggerates the extravagant life of dignitaries;" The second part is only two sentences, revealing the horror of "cannibalism" in Jiangnan with dagger-like warnings. This arrangement has far-reaching significance. It tells people that the nine wines and eight treasures on the table of celebrities are based on the suffering and death of the broad masses of the people.

Poetry focuses on the arrogance of dignitaries.

"The road is long and Xiu Yuan is awkward, and the pommel horse shines with dust." It's all about arrogant and powerful people, and I got carried away all the way. The "pommel horse" is not covered by the raised dust, but shines, which shows the beauty of its decoration. It's amazing that two poems are so vivid that they suddenly come. "Who is it, please? People call it the Minister of the Interior. " The poet pointed out the identity of passers-by by by asking and answering questions. My wife is only the eunuch of the emperor. Why is she so arrogant? It turned out that they were all North Korean doctors and army generals, dressed in "Zhu Bi" and "Aster", and went to the army to attend the banquet in droves. The "Army" of the "Military Banquet" refers to the Ce Shen Army, which was stationed in Chang 'an at this time and became the imperial army to defend the emperor. It was controlled by eunuch leaders, so they became more and more domineering and overbearing. "Praise the military banquet and go like a cloud." The word "kua" means triumphant appearance, and "like a cloud" describes the large number of people and the great momentum, which is a supplement to "arrogance".

What about the meals in the army? "Respect for righteousness and righteousness, land and water, Luo Bazhen; The fruit breaks the Dongting orange and cuts the Tianchi scale. " The poem seems to list a recipe, highlighting the luxury of eunuchs' feasting: drinking nine kinds of wine, eating all kinds of delicacies on land and water, eating oranges from Dongting Mountain in Taihu Lake, and eating sliced Tianchi fish. The poem has a beautiful layout, which is in the same strain as Light Dust on the pommel horse. It not only highlights the luxury of the banquet, but also paves the way for revealing the tragic image of "cannibalism" below.

"When you are full, you will feel refreshed." Rich and powerful people are full of pride, but now they are drunk and full, and naturally they are more satisfied and arrogant. "Being a family", I feel comfortable; "Qi benefits the vibration" and the spirit is more high. The two sentences have different meanings, which vividly outline the attitudes of "satiety" and "drunkenness".

Of the above fourteen sentences, the first eight sentences focus on exaggerating the arrogance of the spirit, while the last six sentences focus on expressing the luxury of life. After vividly describing the arrogance and extravagance of these dignitaries, the pen suddenly turned and put forward a shocking fact: "When there was a drought in the south of the Yangtze River, Quzhou people ate people." "The drought in the south of the Yangtze River" refers to the drought that occurred in the Jianghuai area from the winter solstice to the spring of the following year in the third year of Yuanhe (808). Bai Juyi once asked for tax relief. Poetry once again highlights this historical fact, in order to attack those dignitaries who only know how to enjoy life and treat life like dirt.

This poem uses the method of contrast to juxtapose two diametrically opposite social phenomena for readers to compare and comment on themselves. Bai Juyi often uses this method in allegorical poems, such as his poem Song and Dance, which first exposes the life of the ruler's red candle singing and dancing, and then ends with "I'm afraid there are death row inmates who freeze to death in the township prison". The two poems at the end are as swift and impressive as "the drought in the south of the Yangtze River and the people in Quzhou eat people".
