Driven by curiosity, I woke up early in the morning and took a peek at my son's diary. The first thing I felt when I saw the diary was surprise! surprise! surprise! I really didn't expect that in my son's heart, this is something he is very proud of. I am also worried that he will feel frustrated and unsure of himself, and will find it difficult to stand on the podium again in the future. I will probably not participate in similar activities again. He never thought it would become something he would be proud of. What my son focused on was the feeling of standing in a 300-square-meter studio with a microphone, while what I focused on was just the result of this incident.
Yesterday when we were sitting in the auditorium waiting to go on stage, I asked my child, do you still need to read the manuscript? My son said no. Soon my son was standing alone in the waiting area waiting to play. Sitting in the audience, I saw that my son was very calm, not nervous or panicked at all. I still admire him very much and has a good psychological quality. If it were me, I would definitely be extremely nervous.
The son finally came on stage. He picked up the microphone and spoke without fear, without any trace of nervousness in his voice. "Two Peaches Kill Three Soldiers" was finished successfully without any lags, forgetting words, or swallowing. I usually keep swallowing when I practice at home, but I didn't expect that my performance on stage would be better than at home.
Although the result is not satisfactory, it is also expected, because we have not received professional reading training, and we do not even have basic reading knowledge. Facing others, after professional training and professional preparation of clothing, hair accessories, shoes, and music, we can have the courage and confidence to stand on the podium and complete the process, which is already very good. There was another mistake on my part. It was a poetry recitation competition. I didn’t understand the requirements clearly and asked him to prepare a story to participate in the competition.
What deserves praise from me is that when my son walked off the stage, he did not express his dissatisfaction in front of his children. Facts also show that children are not as fragile and unable to withstand setbacks as adults imagine.
Another thing I deserve praise for is that when I saw the notice of the "4th Shandong Province Poetry Reciting Competition" for the first time, I asked the publisher what he thought at the time. It was impossible to participate in a high-end competition show, but at that time I thought about asking. It doesn’t cost any money anyway, so you can give it a try. Maybe it will work. Unexpectedly, I actually went. Regardless of the outcome, this is also an experience and an exercise in life. Give this fearless attempt a round of applause.
Through this activity, I discovered the advantages of children. : 1-Have good psychological quality. There is no fear in front of the stage, there is no nervousness in Taichung, and there is still confidence behind the stage. 2-Practice what you say. Ever since I agreed to participate in the event, I have always followed the requirements and never given up halfway. 3-Withstand setbacks and failures. Although the result was not good, I did not lose my confidence or courage because of the competition. 4-Be willing to try. Willing to try many things.
Mistakes: 1- Before participating in the event, first read the requirements clearly.
2-Since you are participating in an event, you still need to prepare your clothes appropriately
3-Since it is a recitation, there are requirements for recitation. In the future, you must strengthen your voice, intonation, emotion, and expression. train! Don’t fight an unprepared battle.
4-The root cause is improper attitude and insufficient preparation.
5-For poetry recitation, you can take the manuscript to the stage, memorizing it is not the point. The key content was not captured, and the focus was wrong.
Summary: Just give it a try!
Competitions promote growth and are an opportunity to showcase.
Whether an activity is good or not depends mainly on whether it enhances self-confidence! Not the result!
