What kind of bears live in tropical rainforest areas?

The sun bear is one of the rarest animals in the tropical rainforest, distributed in the tropical rainforests of Sumatra, the Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Myanmar, Thailand and southern China. As the smallest bear, the sun bear is 3.3 to 4.6 feet (1 to 1.4 meters) long, weighs 60 to 143 pounds (27 to 65 kilograms), and has a stocky body. The sun bear's fur is black and short, with an orange crescent across its chest, which is said to represent the rising sun. Powerful feet with long curved claws help climb trees in dense forests. Sun bears are expert tree climbers, tearing apart tree bark in search of insects, larvae and nests of bees and termites. Its daily diet also includes fruits, coconuts and small rodents. Sun bears sleep and sunbathe during the day and come out at night. Sun bears are extremely timid and shy, cautious and intelligent by nature. But with the destruction of forests, the number of sun bears is gradually declining.
