World couplets from Qing Dynasty to Lange

The world of couplets from Qing Dynasty to Lan Ji: sage is empty and bright, bamboo is the same.

brief introduction

It selects two related sentences from ancient and modern literati's poems, essays, inscriptions and classics. Form couplets according to the requirements of rhythm, antithesis and leveling.

It not only retains the words and phrases of the original text, but also makes the language muddy and new, giving people an artistic appeal of "shine on you is better than blue". At the same time, the collection of couplets can naturally remind people of the original collection, which invisibly provides a broad artistic space and is of great benefit to cultivating sentiment and communicating with the soul.

The antithesis can collect different poems of the same author, poems of different authors, poems of the same generation and poems of different generations.

The scope of definite sentences is also limited. For example, Tang poetry and prose must be relative. No matter what the scope of the definite sentence is, when the integrated work is skillful, we must not let the stipulation of the definite sentence bind our hands and feet and affect the quality of the work.

The origin of antithesis is similar to that of poetry. He said in Textual Research on Poems of Past Dynasties: "(Wang Anshi) begins with a group of sentences, many of which have rhyme, all of which are in the same strain as the sentences of predecessors, and semantic duality is often more intimate than this poem."

Wang Anshi can be said to be a master of couplets, but couplets did not start from Wang Anshi. According to the Records of Liaohua Prefecture, couplets appeared as early as the early Song Dynasty.

The range of antithesis is very wide, but the most common is poetic antithesis, such as Rui Fang Dui by Li Shangyin in Qing Dynasty and Jiao Shan Xi Dui by Su Shi.

Yang lulian:

We say that couplets are a special literary form, mainly because: first, they have a more refined language than poetry, and they use words flexibly and freely, without being limited by the number of words. This is the characteristic of its own genre, while poetry is stiff and rigid.

Sentence composition is a kind of creative labor, not a game word or something. The author must have some uncontrollable literary rhyme. Otherwise, it's hard to make a good pair with a macro in your hand.

In the set sentence pairs, the author can extract two unrelated sentences from the sea of Wang Yang in Wenshan's poems to form a good pair according to his own subjective ideas and through his own choice and thinking.

In a sense, it is much more difficult and hard-won to make a set of couplets than to write them yourself. It is precisely because of the hard-won set sentences that many literati in history have been pursuing their talents in this world. It's as difficult as looking for treasures in the mountains and pearls in the sea.
