Xiaochi is a seven-character quatrain written by Yang Wanli, a poet in Song Dynasty. In this poem, the author uses rich and novel imagination and anthropomorphic techniques to describe in detail the characteristics and changes of natural scenery around Xiaochi.
The first sentence says that the pond is connected with running water. There is a shade on the pond. The third sentence says Xiao He came out of the water with a small pond. Dragonflies have feelings, come and be with Xiao He. It shows the poet's love for natural scenery. This poem is small and exquisite, just like a colorful ink painting of flowers, birds, insects and fish. The pond, spring, stream, lotus and dragonfly in the picture are all small, but they are exquisite and full of vitality.

This poem is written like a painting, with rich layers: sun, trees, lotus, pond, bright colors, bright sunshine, dark green shade, green lotus, fresh dragonfly and clear spring. The picture is full of motion: flying dragonflies, shadowy pool water, full of poetry and painting.
