AKIKO YOSANO Yosano Akiko was an active writer, thinker and famous haiku poet from Meiji to Showa, and was regarded as the first modern female poet in Japan. Kaoru Yosano also spent eight years translating all eight volumes of the best Japanese classic Tale of Genji into modern Japanese, and then reprinted them many times, so that some little girls thought that the author of Tale of Genji was Kaoru Yosano Zi, a talented woman who comes once in a thousand years.
