I just finished "Red Moon and Blue Sun". If the ending wasn't a bit sudden, I would have knelt down for it.
I don’t understand whether it is well-made or not, but regardless of the topic selection or the performance of the story, I am very willing to give it high marks. In a suspense film, it's pretty good, although we can easily guess who the murderer is under the director's arrangement.
The subject matter is very social: child abuse.
Based on my superficial understanding in the past, my understanding of child abuse was almost close to being beaten. I simply understood it as causing physical pain to children, but ignored the mental abuse, which made it even more painful. People are unforgettable.
In the Ha Na incident, the director did not show the physical torture of Ha Na by the dog butcher, but used two scenes to show the high-pressure effect on Ha Na’s mind by the dog butcher:
1. Ha Na was so frightened that she peed her pants under the dog butcher’s questioning.
2. Faced with the constant temptation of the psychologist and the police, Ha Na could still say nothing about the dog butcher killing people and disposing of the bodies privately.
This is a 6-year-old child who can actually resist the "attack" of the psychologist and the police and hold on to the line of defense.
On the surface, the dog butcher just threatened Ha Na: I will break your neck if you tell her.
But thinking about it on a deeper level, isn't it because Ha Na has already seen it, and even almost experienced it, that she can deeply understand the significance of this threat? Faced with man-made death, she endured undue mental pressure at an age she should not have endured, and also endured maturity and rationality that she should not have had at that age.
I think the director of this drama handled the issue very skillfully in that in child abuse cases, mental pressure should be paid more attention to than physical brilliance. Without exaggerating the physical brilliance of the butcher to Ha Na, but through Ha Na's performance, we can see the high-pressure control the dog butcher has over Ha Na. Isn't this more unacceptable than being beaten?
"The body will recover after rest, but the mental damage is different."
As a side note, the actor Dog Butcher is really great. His expressions, movements, and language all show his perverted attributes. I give him a thumbs up for the actor.
In my personal understanding, directors tend to be less able to accept mental torture.
This is evident in the Shining event.
Shining is the child who is used by his mother as a means to show off and to preserve his self-esteem, and has to learn under the stick.
The body was bruised and bruised, and personal freedom was controlled when it was time to learn, but Shining preserved his spiritual consciousness, knowing that the continuous pain could no longer be endured, and he had to seek help.
And Ha Na is always passive, whether she accepts the arrangement of the children's center to go to a group home, or accepts the arrangement of fate and follows the dog butcher home. She had no choice. The only time he took the initiative to ask for help was when the dog butcher was killed. Can we also regard this as the beginning of Ha Na's escape from the mental pressure of the Dog Butcher?
The director's tendency can also be seen from the results of the Dog Butcher and Min Ha Jung: the Dog Butcher was directly tried, and Min Ha Jung committed suicide.
Let’s look at He Na and Shining again. Even after her mother committed suicide, Shining still misses and needs her mother very much. However, He Na knows clearly that the dog butcher is dead, but she doesn’t dare to cry or make trouble until she is killed. Only after Xiuying saw through it did she dare to release her feelings.
In the case of child abuse, the brilliance of the spirit is much more terrifying than the physical destruction. This is what I understood in "Red Moon and Blue Sun", and it was also the first time I felt that child abuse is unforgivable. But do we have the right to judge?
The male protagonist’s point of view is very correct: once I start the trial, I am not innocent myself, so what right do I have to judge?
But the paradox is that when the male protagonist and the female protagonist know that Ha Na is about to be taken away by the dog butcher, their unanimous thoughts are: It would be great if he could die.
In the scene where Ha Na buried the sparrow, I even suspected that the heroine deliberately let Li Eunhao know about Ha Na's situation. Her true inner thoughts were that she hoped Red Crying would take action.
Because this is the only way they can save Ha Na, everything else is just delaying.
When they got their wish, I was also secretly happy.
I even doubt that if one day I was in such pain in the purgatory on earth, would I choose to end everything in this way.
Killing is just a matter of raising a knife.
Fortunately, the director gave me the answer:
Li Eun-ho said that kind-hearted people cannot kill others.
The debt of conscience that a kind person needs to bear after killing someone can be so heavy that it makes people commit suicide.
But we hope someone can help us do things we can’t do. This is also a kind of human nature.
No one will crusade for the death of the Dog Butcher, but many people will applaud Red Cry. This is what the hero's boss calls "heroism." Once you become blind, the world will be much worse than imagined.
But fortunately, I believe that there are few evil people and many kind people in the world.
"Red Moon and Green Sun" also mentioned a point of view: once the relationship between people is determined, it will be difficult to change.
This is the case between Ha Na and the dog butcher,
This is the case between Li Eun-ho and the old dean and the dean,
This is the case between the heroine Cha Youjing and her stepmother The same is true.
Ha Na’s absolute obedience to the dog butcher was consistent from childhood until the dog butcher’s death; even in the end, she almost failed to bravely express her emotions and cry boldly.
Li Enhao habitually helps the dean "wipe the butt" and is sincerely afraid of the old dean; without Li Enhao's final awakening and his final choice to break away from this relationship, he would have become the scapegoated murderer. .
I would like to describe the relationship between Che Youjing and her stepmother as flattering, and this relationship lasted until Che Youjing knew the whole truth about her sister.
The most impressive thing was a quarrel between Che Youjing and her stepmother in the ward. When her stepmother got angry, Che Youjing immediately took her stepmother's hand and said, "Mom, I'm sorry, I was wrong. ".
Ever since she was a child, she has wanted her stepmother to be happy, hoping to please her so that she would not be beaten. And her stepmother naturally accepted Cha Youjing’s flattery and overtures. Their relationship has been about pleasing and fawning from the beginning. A relationship that is flattered. Even when Che Youjing is also a mother, her stepmother will still slap her in the face if they have a quarrel.
However, what is fortunate is that the director is encouraging everyone to break away from fixed relationships, although the method used in the play is a bit cruel.
Ha Na broke away from the "controlled" relationship with the dog butcher because of the death of the dog butcher and the encouragement of Quan Xiuying;
Li Eunhao dismissed the old dean and dean The "masochistic" relationship between them ended with the death of the old dean and Li Eun-ho;
Cha Youjing and his stepmother broke away from this flattering relationship at the cost of knowing about the death of their sister.
Can we understand it as:
Once the relationship between people is determined, it often requires a lot of effort to readjust or break away from this relationship. cost?
Such as death.
For example, the hellish memories of car friends.
An important point that stands out in the Shiran incident is that the emergence of children's problems is closely related to the behavior of parents.
Shitan's psychological problems, or the doubts his father brought to him, led him to harm himself and other classmates.
The root of the problem was that his father blamed Shi Tan for his murder.
Shi Tan passively accepted the arrangement of "killing his sister", but had to find an outlet for his confusion or emotions.
So I was obsessed with the stairs, hurt myself, and pushed my classmates down the stairs.
Everyone regarded him as a problem child, but no one investigated the cause of the problem. It was not revealed until the end.
Similar incidents also occurred in the Korean drama "VOICE2".
When I was a child, I witnessed my father’s murder scene with my own eyes. When I grew up, I also regarded killing as a kind of enjoyment and a hobby.
Parents are the best teachers, no matter in which aspect.
To say that "Red Moon and Blue Sun" is a dud is a bit much. But it is indeed too hasty and not quite symmetrical with the previous sense of professionalism and rhythm.
I can understand that Yoon Tae-joo kills people out of guilt for his younger brother and has the same mentality as Shi-san and Cha You-kyung. Fortunately, it’s not me. But what I can’t understand is that he hid it so much from the beginning to the end. It's amazing that a person can be dragged into a trap so directly.
He was able to face the police interrogation with ease, and even almost hypnotized the police with his professional knowledge;
In the design of the murder cases of Park Ji-hye, Sora's father, and Si-san's father, he almost almost hypnotized the police. It ended with a suicide case and a robbery case, which shows the cleverness of the design, but he was caught in such a way. I have to suspect that it was just to speed up the end of the series.
Obviously the final reveal of the mystery could have more layers to it, but it was just brushed off.
Such a shoddy ending always makes me feel a bit regretful.
However, what still makes me feel terrible is that fortunately it is not my mentality. We must all have it.
