When I was ten years old, I cut a poem and became a horse.
On Danshan Road in Wan Li, Tonghua, the little phoenix is clearer than the old one.
This poem uses a long title to explain why it was written. Donglang is the nickname of Han Wo, a poet in the late Tang Dynasty. His father Han Zhan was afraid of it, Li Shangyin's good friend and brother-in-law. In the late autumn of the fifth year of Dazhong (85 1), Li Shangyin left Beijing for Zizhou (located in Santai, Sichuan), entered the Liu Zhongying shogunate, and our time was in Dongchuan. Han Wo was only ten years old, and he was able to improvise poetry at a farewell dinner. His talent was shocking. Ten years later, Li Shangyin returned to Chang 'an, re-recited the poems written by Han Wo, recalled the past, and wrote two four-line songs. This is the first one.
The first sentence recalls ten-year-old Han Donglang's impromptu poetry at the banquet, which is witty and full of surprises. "Cold ashes and broken candles leave love" bid farewell to the table, and the core ashes and tears are half broken, which makes people stunned. .....
In three or four sentences, the poet compares Donglang and his son to a phoenix by metaphor, and uses "the voice of the little phoenix is clearer than that of the old phoenix" to express the abstract truth of Shining on You and turn it into a concrete image. This is not vivid enough, and the poet thinks that the legendary phoenix was born in Danshan, and it loves to inhabit the phoenix tree. After the gallop of imagination, such a fascinating picture has been formed: on the distant Danshan Road, beautiful tung flowers cover the ground, and from time to time, there are crisp and round calls from chicks among the flowers, and it is more pleasant to listen to the call of the old phoenix. What a poetic portrayal!
This poem praises the younger generation, and Tonghua is novel in conception and superb in brushwork. It is not only beautiful and graceful in Yishan's poems, but also gloomy in Du Fu's poems. Dissolving vivid association and imagination and turning facts into virtual situations and pictures is another form of expression of Li Shangyin's poems. A poem that was originally easy to write in an ordinary way has been handed down all the time with the famous sentence "Chickens are bright", which is inseparable from the poet's true feelings for the younger generation.
