Song Ci drew nutrients from The Book of Songs, The Songs of the South and the poems of the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties, and also provided nutrients for the later operas and novels of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Ci and Yuanqu belong to poetry in genre. Words can be divided into small, medium and long sounds. Yuanqu is divided into zaju and Sanqu. Sanqu is also called "Qingqu" and "Today's Yuefu". It has three basic types: poems and sets of numbers, and the overtones between them.
