In the century-old temple in Shaanxi, the flood hit an automatic detour, but the expert had no solution but was cracked by three children. What is the reason?

From ancient times to the present, the construction of houses is a very particular issue, such as geomantic omen, orientation, and especially geographical location. When building a house, people usually choose to build it in a higher place, away from the river, and it is best to back to the hill to avoid being flooded. However, there is an ancient city god temple in Shaanxi Province, which is built on a sandbar and prone to floods, but it has never been submerged every time it is attacked by floods.

Shaanxi temple, unexpectedly let the flood bypass.

There is a city god temple on the sandbar beside Chang 'an River, which is five kilometers away from ningshan county, Shaanxi Province. It was built in Qianlong for 50 years and has a long history, 200 years ago. It is the only well-preserved temple with unique design in Shaanxi Province. This county, a place with high flood incidence, is often hit by floods, with an average annual rainfall of 900 ml, which is very large. But during the flood, all the surrounding houses were washed away by the current, only it was safe and sound. Even more amazing, the flood will make a detour, avoid it and automatically split into two streams.

Various legends are circulated among the people.

This magical phenomenon, even experts have triggered all kinds of wonderful guesses of local people, and it has become a popular story over time. There is a story that the Town God Temple appeared. According to local legend, there are a pair of golden ducks under the Chenghuang Temple, which existed in the Ming Dynasty. At that time, a monk tried to steal the golden ducks, but was found. The golden duck hid under the water and never came out. After the local people knew it, they always thought it was a treasure trove of feng shui. Ancient people believed in Feng Shui very much, so when Qianlong was in power, he built the Town God Temple here.

So every flood season, the city god temple will be protected by the golden duck, which will arch the city god temple to make it higher than the ground, so that the flood will not destroy the city god temple. So it hasn't been submerged for hundreds of years. It is also because of this story that this Town God Temple was named "Golden Duck Erect Town God Temple".

Mysterious phenomenon, middle school students decipher

Of course, these are all Machamp's stories about God's confusion, but what is the real reason? Even the experts of the last century have not found the result. Many geographers and architects visited the Chenghuang Temple and studied it for many years, but they didn't find the reason. Although many conjectures have been put forward, they have not been denied. Because there is no scientific basis, the reason for this phenomenon has not been scientifically explained. Everyone is puzzled, unknown so.

But what many experts didn't expect was that this puzzle was finally solved by three middle school students. In 2006, three middle school students from a local middle school were interested in this legend, so they went to the Chenghuang Temple for a field investigation. After careful research and access to information, I found the mystery.

There is a special-shaped boulder near the City God Temple, which is equivalent to the base of the City God Temple, which is made of boulder and is boat-shaped. Viewed from the side, it looks like a rhinoceros. There is a group of rocks around the boulder, forming the rhinoceros back. These stone groups separate the upstream water, just separating the Town God Temple and letting the water flow down from both sides of the Town God Temple. At the same time, because the stone group is located at the bend of the river, the river will produce a greater centrifugal force on them, resulting in the phenomenon of high in the west and low in the east. Coupled with the rhinoceros's back, three-quarters of the river flows into the Xihe River. When the flood breaks out, people usually stand on the west bank, so it will give people the illusion that the Chenghuang Temple has risen and will not let the Chenghuang Temple be washed away.

The distribution of these rocks is similar to the "Yu Zui Fenshui Dike" in Dujiangyan, a masterpiece of ancient water conservancy projects in China, which can divert floods and protect the Chenghuang Temple. I really admire the intelligence of ancient craftsmen. I used the terrain to observe its laws, and skillfully designed and established the Chenghuang Temple, which kept it for hundreds of years. At the same time, we should also be proud of these three middle school students. They are good at thinking and show the world what "shine on you is better than blue".
