An ancient poem for Liu Wenjing

The ancient poems presented to Liu bai Jingwen are as follows:

To Liu Jingwen/Winter Scenery

In Song Dynasty: Su Shi

The lotus is exhausted, but there are still Ao Shuang branches.

you must remember that a year is a good time, especially when it is orange, yellow and green.

Translation

The lotus flower withered, even the lotus leaf that held the rain withered, and only the flower branch that broke the chrysanthemum was proud of the cold and frost.

You must remember the best scenery in a year, that is, in the late autumn and early winter when oranges are golden and green.

Appreciation

This poem was written by the poet and presented to his good friend Liu Jingwen. The first two sentences of the poem describe the scenery, grasping the "lotus exhaustion" and "chrysanthemum remnant" to describe the bleak scene in late autumn and early winter. There is a sharp contrast between "nothing" and "still there", which highlights the image of Chrysanthemum Ao Shuang fighting the cold. The last two sentences discuss the scenery and reveal the purpose of giving poems. It shows that although the winter scenery is bleak and cold, it also has a fruitful and mature harvest side, which is just incomparable to other seasons. Poets write this way, which is used to describe a person's prime of life. Although youth has passed, it is also the golden stage of maturity and great achievements in life. Encourage friends to cherish this great time and be optimistic.
