The Meaning of Similes and Metaphors in Poetry

1. Simile is noumenon, vehicle and figurative words, and figurative words are often used, such as "image", "as if" and "as if".

The Yangtze River is like a dragon.

In this sentence, "Jiang" is the noumenon, "Xiang" is the figurative word, and "Dragon" is the vehicle.

2. Metaphor refers to the simultaneous appearance of ontology and vehicle, and metaphorical words are often used as "yes", "become", "become" and "constitute".

For example, the clouds in the mountains constitute a beautiful landscape painting.

In this sentence, "cloud in the mountains" is the noumenon, "composition" is the figurative word, and "a beautiful landscape painting" is the carrier.

3. Metonymy refers to borrowing vehicles instead of ontologies, that is, only vehicles appear, and neither ontologies nor figurative words appear.

For example, those willows with all their leaves falling off are covered with fluffy and shiny silver bars.

In the previous sentence, there is neither ontology nor figurative words, but the vehicle is a "sound bar".
