This is the place with the largest number of painters and calligraphers in China. There have been comments in calligraphy and painting circles for a long time. Half of the history of calligraphy and painting in China was written by Huzhou people.
There are a large number of literary masters here. The well-known Tang poem Ode to a Wanderer was written by Huzhou people, and two of the three words and two beats were written by Huzhou people. The famous contemporary reportage Goldbach Conjecture was also written by Huzhou people. There are also writers such as Lu Yu, Wu Cheng'en, Zhang, Su Dongpo and Yan Zhenqing who have lived in Huzhou for a long time and are influenced by the local cultural landscape.
There are ancient bibliophiles who have more books than the imperial court and modern private bibliophiles who have influenced the world. Some scholars studied the order law for China and wrote four tones, based on the four tones of "Ping, Shang, Qu and Ru".
This is not only the place with the largest number of ancient scholars in China, but also one of the places with the largest number of faculty and academicians in the contemporary two academies. Here came the designers of two generations of guided missile destroyers in China, the designer of the first plane in New China, and three principals in Peking University.
There are both civil servants and military commanders here. In the Three Kingdoms, it was Huzhou who forced Guan Yu to defeat Maicheng, and in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the founding emperor of Chen Dynasty was Huzhou. Six world sports champions have been born here in history. The first gymnastics school in China was founded by Huzhou people, and the most important acrobatic pioneer in New China is Huzhou people.
This is the richest place in modern China. It is also one of the richest cities in Jiangnan. It once owned one-tenth of the country's silk, known as the Silk House, one-tenth of the country's freshwater fish, known as the land of plenty, and one-tenth of the country's bamboo, known as the bamboo town of China.
Another example is Huzhou's lake pen-making technology, Huzhou's feather fan, embroidery and silk, Huzhou's folk customs such as louver dragons and silkworm flowers sweeping graves, Huzhou's ancient temple fair of windproof silkworm flowers, Huzhou's snacks such as thousands of steamed stuffed buns and zongzi, which are all worth mentioning.
