I want to be a writer, but I find that I can't write anything. Is it because I have no talent? Should I give up?

Writing literary works is related to talent, but not being able to write is not necessarily a lack of talent.

No matter what art, there is an accumulation process of learning and practicing basic skills. As a literary art, we must first have a solid foundation in literature and writing, which has nothing to do with talent. If you still can't write something that is quite cultivated, it is determined by your psychological characteristics. This is the role of the so-called "talent". For example, many herringbone characters are well written, but they don't necessarily become calligraphers; Some professors who specialize in literature can't be writers.

Everyone's psychological characteristics are different, and writers need that kind of sentimental quality. If they are too rational and indifferent, they will certainly not be able to write literary "things".

This problem is profound in theory. I use the most popular example to illustrate: in the light rain, pine leaves are covered with water droplets, which rational people think are just water droplets, while people with rich feelings are different: when they are in a good mood, they feel like pearls; I am in a bad mood and think they are tears. Then, good is also a poem, and bad is also a poem. This is the psychological characteristic, the so-called "talent".
