What does it mean that Jacob finally blessed his 12 sons?

Jacob's blessing is written at the beginning and end of Genesis 49. Look at the Bible-(Gen 49: 1). Jacob called his sons and said, "Gather around so that I can tell you what will happen to you in the future. "And" (Gen 49:28) These are the twelve tribes of Israel; This is what their father said to them, and their blessings are all according to their blessings. "

As for the meaning of metaphor, that's too much:

Gen 49 1 Jacob called his sons, and said, Gather around, so that I can tell you what will happen to you in the future. "

The text notes "Tell you what will happen in the future" and "What will happen in the future" refer to the fact that the Israelites subsequently left Egypt, entered Canaan, distributed land, and founded the country. , including all the history related to Israel, and even the prophecy about the Messiah.

This chapter is Jacob's prophecy to his twelve sons, and later all the prophecies of these twelve tribes came true. Here, Jacob was inspired by God and became a prophet, telling his son what God was going to do.

Gen 49: 2 "Gather yourselves together and listen, sons of Jacob, and listen to Israel your father."

The original meaning of "Jacob" is to grasp the heel, usurper, supplicant and stalker; "Israel", the king of God, who is conquered by God, should govern like God and with God.

The annotations of "Jacob's sons" and "Jacob" mean that he is the father who gave birth to children.

"Listen to your father Israel," "Israel" refers to his position.

Light of Speech (1) Believers should not speak from a physical standpoint ("Jacob"), but should speak to God from a spiritual standpoint ("Israel").

(2) believers should seize the stick and teach their children well; Children must also obey their parents in the Lord. 6: 1).

Gen 49: 3 "Reuben, you are my eldest son, born of my strength. You should have great honor and authority."

"Reuben, you are my eldest son, my ability and the beginning of my productivity. Your honor and power are above everything else."

The original word means "poop". Look! Son, son.

Background: Jews pay special attention to "birthright" and have three privileges: (1) double property; (2) the position of the leader (king) of the family; (3) the clergy of the family.

The annotation "should have had great honor and power" means that he has lost it now-because he once "polluted his father's bed" (see section 4; Thirty-five 22; The 5th generation 1), so his birthright was abolished. Among the descendants of Reuben, there was never a famous judge, prophet or official.

Gen 49: 4 "If you indulge your lust and boil like water, you will not be the first, because you went to your father's bed and defiled my couch."

The annotation "You indulge your lust, boiling like water" means that he can't control his lust and is impulsive and willful. Boiling like water describes being wild and uninhibited.

The light in words (1) The body of a believer is the temple of the Holy Spirit (Cor. 1. 6 19), so keep the dignity of your body and don't let fornication hurt your body (see Lin Qian 1. 6 18).

(2) Marriage should be respected by everyone, and the bed should not be filthy; Because whoever commits adultery will be judged by God (Come 13: 4).

(3) adulterous and unclean people have nothing to do with Christ and the kingdom of God (see 5: 5; Add five 19 ~ 2 1).

(4) If believers do not restrain themselves and commit crimes at will, they will also lose their "son's birthright" (participation in 4.5; Ephesians 1 5; Barrow 13 ~ 15).

(5) "boiling like water"; Seemingly weak, if not controlled, it will also lead to disaster (see proverbs 17: 14). If a person's character is unstable, it will often ruin his future.

Gen 49: 5 "Simeon and Levi are brothers, and their swords are cruel instruments."

The original meaning is "Simon", and the listener listens; "Levi" alliance.

Note: "Simeon and Levi are brothers", and "brothers" means that they are very similar in temperament and behavior, connected with the gas and sharing the same enemy.

"Their swords are cruel instruments" means that they killed all the people in Shechem with their swords (see 34: 25 ~ 29).

Gen 49: 6 "My spirit, do not conspire with them; My heart, don't touch them. Because they killed people in a rage and cut the tendons of their calves at will. "

My soul, don't enter their strategy; My honor, not attending their party ... "

The note "Don't collude with them" means that I can't participate in such a murder, such a cruel thing is cursed.

"My heart, don't touch them." My original "heart" is my "glory", which means something with weight (weight); Note that the word "Levi" means "contact". It means "don't get involved".

"Killing people in a rage and arbitrarily cutting off their hamstrings" is the "motive" to convict them, and here is the cruel and heartless "behavior" to convict them.

The light in words (1) Jacob used to pay attention to the gains and losses of himself and his family (see 34: 30); What he sees now is the problem of sin.

(2) Believers should not repay evil with evil, nor should they retaliate against themselves, but should give in and let the Lord's anger prevail (Luo. 12: 17, 19).

Gen 49: 7 "Cursed is their fierce anger; Their resentment is cruel and cursed; I will scatter them in Jacob's house and in Israel. 」

Note: "Their anger is fierce, but their resentment is cruel." Note that Jacob did not curse their "people", but their "temperament and behavior".

"I want them to live in Jacob's house and scattered in Israel." Later, as Jacob said, the former can only get the land within the territory of the Jewish tribe (see 19: 1 ~ 9), while the latter is scattered in the 48th city and its surrounding suburbs (see 21:4/kloc-).

The light in the text (1) The best way to deal with furious and cruel people is to disperse them and prevent them from getting together.

(2) The lust and cruelty committed by Reuben, Levi and Simeon represent the two major evils of the body; Believers must thoroughly deal with these two characteristics of natural life in order to fully enjoy spiritual blessings.

(3) The defecation behavior violates the sanctity of God; What Simeon and Levi did violated God's justice. Jacob's prophecy to the three of them is a manifestation of God's holiness and righteousness.

Gen 49: 8 Judah, your brothers will praise you, your hand will be around the neck of your enemies, and your father's sons will bow down to you.

It turns out that this word means the praise of Judas.

Literally note "Judas, your brothers will praise you". Note that the word "Judas" means "praise"; It means that God is praised in Judas.

"Your hand will strangle the enemy", which means that the Jewish tribe will win the battle.

"Your father's sons will bow to you", suggesting that the tribe of Judah will take power in the future. Judas is the fourth son, because Reuben, the eldest son, indulged in lust (see verse 4), Simeon, the second son, and Levi, the third son, were cruel (see verses 5-7), so the position of patriarch in the birthright was given to Judas. Later, David of the tribe of Judah established the Judah dynasty (see sa. 5: 4 ~ 5).

The spiritual annotation "Choke the enemy by the neck" means that people rebel against God because of their stiff necks (see Shen 3 1: 27), so this sentence means "Turn the rebellious people to the wisdom of the righteous and prepare Shu Ren for the Lord" (Lu 1: 17).

Light of Words (1) If believers can make the Lord manifest in him, they will become the object of praise of all brothers.

(2) Only the winner in the spiritual battle can get ahead among brothers.

Gen 49: 9 "Judah is a little lion; My son, you catch food; You bend down, lie down like a lion and squat down like a lioness. Who dares to provoke you? "

Generally speaking, the "lioness" is a hunting task, so they usually crouch and wait to catch their prey; Because the "lion" is huge and not agile enough, he usually only enjoys the fruit of the lioness and lazily "lies down" to rest after eating; "cubs" are usually afraid to eat with lions. They should leave with a full meal before the lion arrives, or tear open a piece of "caught" and run to one side to eat.

Note "Judas is a little lion ... a lion ... a lioness" and "lion" are the kings of beasts, indicating that the descendants of Judas will be king among all brothers.

"Who dares to provoke you" is the prestige and strength of the Jewish tribe, and no one can match it.

Spiritual annotation "lion" symbolizes authority and strength. According to the body, Jesus Christ comes from the tribe of Judah (refer to Mt.1 3, 16) and is called "the lion in the tribe of Judah" (Revelation 5). Therefore, the prophecy about Judas here can also be regarded as the prophecy of the Messiah (Christ). This section predicts that Christ defeated the enemy on the cross and ascended to heaven with booty. 4: 8; Poetry 68 18), rest in peace because of satisfaction.

Gen 49: 10 "GUI will not leave Judah, and his staff will not leave between his feet until Shiloh (the peace giver) comes, and all the people will submit."

Literally, "Gui never leaves Judah, and the scepter never leaves between his feet", and "scepter" is a symbol of kingship or state power; Royal staff (éé) means imperial staff or staff. Because this is a Hebrew antithesis poem, the two are synonyms. "Between his feet" refers to his descendants. The whole sentence says, "The descendants of Judah will reign for a long time." .

The spiritual annotation "Until Silo comes, all nationalities will submit" means a coming; "Xiluo" means "giver of peace". The prediction is this: (1) Christ Jesus came to save sinners (in advance 1. 15), all countries should believe, so as to make peace with God (Luo. 5: 10); (2) When Christ comes again, all nations will obey, and the whole earth will be filled with peace (see 2-4; 1 1 6 ~ 10).

Light of Words (1) Christ gives peace, but his peace is given to those who obey. If we don't obey God, there will be no peace; The more obedient, the more peaceful.

(2) the real authority is the servant of God, who carries out authority for God's sake (see Luo. 13: 1 ~ 4); All authority either converts people to Christ or abuses it.

Judas tied Xiao Lv to the vine, and his colt to the beautiful vine. He washed clothes with wine and robes and robes with grape juice. "

Comment on the meaning of the text: "Judas tied Xiao Lv to the vine and tied the colt to the beautiful vine." The trunk of grapes is not strong, so farmers generally don't tie donkeys to vines. But it says here that the vines in Judah are growing, so you can tie the donkey and let it eat grape leaves and fruits, because the yield is too rich.

"Washing clothes in wine, washing robes in grape juice" means that grapes are rich, which can be drunk and washed in wine and juice. This is a fruitful scene, which indicates the future prosperity of the Jewish tribes.

Spiritual annotation "Tie Xiao Lv to the vine and pony to the beautiful vine", and "Donkey" symbolizes hard service; The "vine" symbolizes the abundant life of Christ; The donkey tied to the vine symbolizes living in the Lord (about 15: 4) and enjoying rest.

This passage shows that there is no hard work, but there is rich enjoyment; No sweat (reference 3: 19), but full of wine. This scene also indicates that people will enjoy and rest in peace under the governance of Christ.

The Light in the Word (1) God decreed that we should toil all our lives (see 3: 17), but the Lord said: All who toil and bear heavy burdens can come to me ("the donkey is tied to the vine") and they will have rest (see 3: 28-30; About 15 5).

(2) Only when you stop struggling and completely connect with the Lord ("the donkey tied the vine") can you have real rest and enjoyment.

(3) Today, when we believers have rest and enjoyment, we still have to work hard. But the day of blessing will come, when we will have a complete rest and the fruits of our work will follow us (refer to the oath 13).

(4) Believers should always be immersed in the rich enjoyment of Christ's life (in wine and juice), and only when they act as human beings (in clothes and robes) can they be bright and white (see Rev. 19.8).

(5) Judah is also a "lion" (see section 9) and a "vine"; The real spiritual leader (lion) in the church is not to get anything from God's children, but to show the rich life of Christ (vine) to meet the needs of God's children.

His eyes will be red with wine, and his teeth will be white with milk.

Literally, "his eyes will be rosy with wine", and "wine" is the essence of plants and produced in vineyards; "Red eye" means that you have drunk a lot and your eyes are excited.

"His teeth will be white and bright because of milk." "Milk" is the essence of animals and comes from sheepfolds. "White teeth" means rich nutrition and healthy and beautiful teeth.

This section shows the strength of the tribes in Judah.

This section also shows that believers in the church (vineyards and sheepfolds) will show the glory of Christ (ruddy and white) by enjoying the richness of Christ's life (wine and milk).

Gen 49: 13 Zebulun will live in Haikou, and Haikou will become a seaport for stopping ships. His territory will extend to Sidon. "

The original meaning of "Zebulon" is to live together, live together and respect.

This passage indicates that the tribes of West Brun will live near the Mediterranean Sea, and "they will absorb the wealth of Eli and the treasure hidden in the sand" (refer to Shensan 18 ~ 19).

Spiritual annotation "Zebulon must live in Haikou", "Haikou" is for trade and symbolizes "traffic".

This section predicts that (1) "the land of Hebron" will become the origin of the gospel of Christ (refer to Tai Si15 ~16); (2) Believers pass on their wealth gained by being with the Lord to others by means of transportation.

"His field will extend to Sidon" and "the field of Hebron" indicate the development of the gospel of Christ; "Extending to Sidon" indicates that the gospel will spread to the world of foreigners.

Light of Words (1) Believers should try their best to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth (see Acts 1: 8). (2) We must first live with the Lord (the original meaning of Zebulun) and get rich life from the Lord before we can communicate with others.

Gen 49 14 "Issachar is a strong donkey, lying in the sheepfold;"

The original word means "Issachar" value, salary, remuneration and appreciation.

Literally, this section means "love leisure and hate work". The land allocated to the Sakya tribe is located in the northwest of Jordan Valley (reference 19: 17 ~ 23), with fertile land and rich products. However, they may not try to drive away the Canaanites in China, but settle for the status quo.

Spiritual annotation "Sakya is a strong donkey", and "donkey" symbolizes hard service (refer to the annotation in section 1 1); "Strong" is because of adequate nutrition and rest.

The words "lie in the sheepfold" and "lie down" mean to rest; "sheepfold" Yubiao Church

The light in the text (1) believers enjoy rest in peace at work; Therefore, serving in the church ("among the sheepfolds") is hard work ("strong donkeys"), but it is full of rest ("lying down").

(2) Donkeys are savage by nature, and they can't blend in with docile sheep at first, but once tamed, they can lie still in the sheepfold; We must deal with our own nature before we can get along with all the brothers and sisters in the church.

Gen 49 15 "He regards tranquility as the best and fertile land as the beauty, so he lowered his shoulders and became a slave to hard work."

He saw that the rest place was beautiful and the land was happy, so he put down his shoulders to prepare for the burden and paid tribute to his service.

Issachar tribe, ignorant as a donkey, refused to work (refer to section 14) and only enjoyed the land quietly, so that they were ridden on their heads and became slaves of hard labor.

(1) In the Lord's words, light comes first, and then there is demand; Christians enjoy themselves before serving others.

(2) God made us lie down on the grass first, and then guided us to the path of righteousness (Ps. 23: 2 ~ 3)-First, nurture, and then ask us to sacrifice to God in righteousness (3: 3).

(3) Only those who see the spiritual "value" (Issachar's original meaning) will be willing to "lower themselves" in the church and become servants who serve everyone.

Dan will judge his people and be one of the tribes of Israel.

The original meaning of the word "Dan" is judgment, maintenance and justice.

Literally annotated "Dan must judge his people", noting that "Dan" means "trial"; This sentence means that his descendants will be "judges".

"Becoming a tribe of Israel" means "Gui, scepter", so this sentence can also be translated as "becoming the ruler of Israel".

"Dan" tribe produced a famous judge Samson (Judges 13, pages 2 and 24; 15: 20), Jacob's prediction may be about him.

Gen 49 17 "Dan will be a snake in the road, a cobra on the road, biting the horseshoe, leaving the rider behind."

In the previous section 16, the tribe of Dan was expected to be a just judge of God's people, but his descendants took the road of violence and treachery, brought Micah's idol to Dan City, and set up another worship center (Judges 18: 27 ~ 3 1), which led the Israelites to deviate from the right path.

"Biting a horseshoe makes the rider fall behind", which means that the rider can't move forward, but has to retreat.

Spiritual annotation "Snakes are on the road, slugs are on the road", and "snakes" and "slugs" symbolize the wicked (see poem143); They were captured and used by Satan to spread toxins (see ROM. 3: 13), stop God's people from moving forward on the road. Some commentators believe that the people used by the antichrist in the period of revelation may come from the tribe of Dan, so there is no one from the tribe of Dan among the seal recipients in the seventh chapter of Revelation (see Rev. 7: 4 ~ 8).

Lord, I have been waiting for your salvation.

This means that there is nothing I can do about the situation in the previous section 17, and I can only wait for God's redemption.

The mere word (1) cannot be saved unless; Because there is no other name in the world, we can be saved by it (Acts 4: 12).

(2) People who wait for God; No shame (PS. 25-3); He who trusts will not be ashamed (Romans. 9: 33).

(3) When we see that God's children are in danger in the church, we should learn from Jacob's attitude, look to God's salvation and pray to God for them.

Gen 49: 19 "Gad will be pursued by his enemies, but he will pursue their heels."

The original meaning of the "Gad" army is auspicious and lucky.

This passage means that they were chased by the enemy first, and then they chased the enemy in turn, describing their victory after failure. The land allocated by Gad tribe is located on the east bank of Jordan River (References. 13: 24 ~ 28), often invaded by Canaanites (see. 18), but when they become strong, they will conquer the enemy (see. 5: 18 ~ 22).

Light in the Bible (1) We may not win the spiritual battle forever, but we must always fight like Gad and win in failure.

(2) "Being chased by the enemy" can also be regarded as the tempering and discipline given by God through the environment, in order to benefit us (reference1210); Adversity makes a winner!

Gen 49: 20 "The land of Asher will produce rich food for the king to eat."

The word "Asher" originally means blessing and joy.

Note: "The land of Asher will produce abundant food." The land allocated by the Ashe tribe is close to the Mediterranean Sea (References. 19: 24 ~ 3 1), with fertile farmland and rich products.

This sentence can also be translated as "there must be delicious food for the king to eat", which means that the food produced is of the best quality and can be used to sacrifice to the king (see 5.9; Wang Shangsi 7).

Light in Speech (1) "Asher" is the person who supplies spiritual food in the church-they work diligently, manage God's Word, draw life from it and turn life into spiritual food.

(2) Blessed are those who have rich delicacies for our King (Christ); But if you want to "taste the king's delicious food", you have to operate diligently.

Gen 49: 2 1 "Naphtali is a released doe, and he speaks beautiful words."

Naphtali is a wild doe. She gave birth to a lovely deer. Or "Naphtali is a lush tree with beautiful branches."

Originally meant "Naphtali" wrestling, my wrestling.

Notes on the text "Naphtali is a released doe", and "released doe" refers to its flexible and agile steps (see poem18: 33); Later, the people of Naphtali tribe performed well in the war (Judges 4: 6, 16).

The spiritual annotation "released Doe" indicates the resurrected Christ; "He spoke beautiful words," and expressed the mercy of God's mouth (see Luke 4: 22).

The light in the text (1) how beautiful the footprints of those who bring good news (Luo. 10: 16); I hope God can train more Naphtali people in the church.

(2) Believers should always speak with kindness, as if they had been tempered with salt (Col. 4: 6), so as to say "beautiful words" and offer God's grace to others.

Gen 49: 22 "Yue Se is a fruitful branch, a fruitful branch by the spring, whose branches stick out of the wall."

Words that originally meant "Yue Se" were added, added and deleted.

The background shows that vines must absorb a lot of water to bear fruit. In ancient times, springs were usually in shallow fields, so if vines were planted next to springs, their roots could easily extend to places with water, so they could bear more fruits. But vines are creeping woody plants, and their stems can only be climbed with the support of wooden frames or walls, so there are often many branches sticking out of the walls.

"Yue Se is a prolific branch." In Moses' time, Ephraim and Manasseh, two tribes belonging to Yue Se, together had more people than any other Israeli tribe (see 26: 28-34).

"His branches stick out of the wall." Ephraim and Manasseh not only share the center of the land of Canaan, but also the half tribe of Manasseh occupies a large area of land east of the Jordan River. 13: 29 ~ 3 1; Sixteen 1 ~ seventeen 1 1).

The branches of light (1) in characters don't often live on vines, so they can't bear fruit by themselves. Those who often (live) in it will "bear many fruits" (about 15: 4 ~ 5).

(2) The essential element of "multi-bearing fruit" is to draw more springs, which is the water in the subject (see the original text of Fu). 5: 26); Only by enriching the words of Christ in our hearts (col 3: 16) can we bear more fruits (see J 15: 7 ~ 8).

(3) The grape branch sticks out of the wall so that outsiders can enjoy its fruit; Believers should bear more fruits of life and share the benefits of the Lord's life with others.

(4) "Going through the wall" means that the expansion of this life transcends any opposition and restriction; If believers live according to the principles of life, nothing can oppose and restrict us.

Gen 49: 23 "Archers mistreated him, shot at him and persecuted him."

The original word means "suffering" ravages and anger; "Archery" is a strong and constant attack; "Forcing" is as fierce as vendetta.

The literal annotation "archer" refers to the enemy. This paragraph is a picture of being attacked by the enemy.

Gen 49: 24 "But his bow is still strong, and his hands are strong and dexterous; For the shepherd of Israel, the rock of Israel, the mighty one of Jacob. 」

The annotation "But his bow is still hard" shows that he did not lose heart in the war and remained firm (6 refs. 12 ~ 13).

"His hands are strong and agile" means that he can make full use of the weapons given by God (see 6. 16 ~ 17).

This section mentions that Almighty God is the source of his strength. Only by obeying the guidance ("shepherd") and relying on ("rock") wholeheartedly can we stand straight and not be hurt by the enemy.

Gen 49: 25 "The God of your father will help you, and the Almighty will give you all the blessings in heaven, the blessings hidden in the earth and the blessings of childbirth and lactation."

The original meaning is "Shaddai", the one with the mother's breasts (that is, for us, just like a mother with breasts is full, full and all-encompassing for her baby).

The annotation "Your father's God will help you" means that the God who made a covenant with Jacob (see 35: 9 ~ 12) will help him with faithfulness and fulfill his promise.

"The blessing of the heavens, the blessing of the Tibetan land, and the blessing of milk production", the original text of "milk production" is "uterus (uterus) and breast"; A mother's stomach is used for childbirth, and breast milk is used for feeding. The blessings here refer to the blessings of weather and geographical location, including rain, dew, springs, mineral deposits, agricultural products and animal husbandry.

The light in the text ① As long as the "Almighty" is with us, believers can be endless.

(2) God has everything, and without God, everything is lost; We would rather have nothing than God (refer to Hassan 17 ~ 18).

Gen 49: 26 "Your father's blessing is better than that of my ancestors, like an eternal mountain and an extremely distant realm. These blessings will fall on Yue Se's head and those who are separated from his brother. "

The annotation "Your father's blessing is better than my ancestors" means that Yue Se's blessing is better than his ancestors and father's.

"Like an eternal mountain, it is extremely bordered", and "mountain" has a firm meaning (five wishes10); "Polar boundary" can also be translated as "the most beautiful thing", so it can be interpreted as "the treasure of Gu Shan, the treasure of all ages" (Shen 33 15).

"People different from my brother" means "outstanding" or "prince"; In addition, the original text of "parting man" is the same as "Nazirite", so it can refer to "people separated from God". So this sentence has two meanings: (1) indicates that his attainments and achievements are higher than his brother's (refer to Shen San16 ~17); (2) It means that his temperament and behavior are very different from those of his brothers, because he is holy (see Jn. XVII: 19).

Light in Words (1) The greatest blessing in the world is to get Christ, which is our greatest treasure (Phil. 3: 8).

(2) believers should be separated from ordinary people and live entirely for the Lord (see vows 7-9); Only separated people can enjoy the endless supply of almighty god (Cor. 6: 17 ~ 18).

Gen 49: 27 "Benjamin is a ravening wolf. In the morning, he will eat what he has caught, and at night, he will share what he has caught. " "

The original meaning is "Benjamin", the son of the right hand and the son of leaning on, born in the south.

This passage is to celebrate the fighting spirit of Benjamin tribe, who have been famous warriors for many times (staff III15 ~ 30; 22 1,25; The first 12 generation 2).

Light of Speech (1) Believers should be like "torn wolves" in their pursuit of spiritual things, and be proactive rather than passive.

(2) How do wolves eat food in the morning and evening, and how do we keep eating God's word in the morning and evening, so as to grow longer (see Peter 1. 2).

Gen 49: 28 "All these are the twelve tribes of Israel; Their father told them the same thing and blessed them according to their blessings. "

The annotation "These are all the twelve tribes of Israel" shows that the twelve tribes of Israel were already there when Jacob died. Jacob knew what God thought of his family.

"Everyone blesses them according to the blessings." On the surface, some of them don't seem to be blessing, but blaming, but the Bible still thinks this is their blessing.

Light in Words (1) Today, God wants to obtain the vessels made by a group of people, and achieve his own purpose, so that all the peoples on the earth can get their blessings.

(2) What God has done through the house of Israel shows what God wants to do through the church. The mission of the church on earth is to do the work that God has prepared for us (see 2 Ephesians. 10). The church is the container of God's work.

(3) The blame of love is also a good blessing; For those whom the Lord loves will rebuke him, just as a father rebukes his beloved son (Proverbs 3: 12).
