Ye, born in Tonglu, Zhejiang, 3 1907, has been fond of painting and folk art since childhood. After graduating from high school, I went to Shanghai to work in advertising, book illustration, dyeing and weaving design, stage setting and so on. After that, he mainly engaged in comic creation, co-edited Shanghai Comic Weekly with others, edited Times Pictorial, and published the long comic Mr. Wang. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, he formed and led the anti-Japanese cartoon propaganda team, devoted himself to the anti-Japanese propaganda work, and edited China Pictorial Today in Hongkong. Since 1933, I have been engaged in life sketch for a long time. From 65438 to 0942, figure painting was created with traditional pen and ink, which opened up a new realm for Chinese painting. 65438-0947 was hired to teach in Beiping Art College. Later, he served as a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, director of the Department of Chinese Painting, vice president of the Chinese Painting Research Institute, vice chairman of the China Artists Association, and a member of the Second to Seventh CPPCC. From 1966 to 1975, he was jailed after ten years of turmoil, and 1979 was officially rehabilitated. After his rehabilitation, all his salary was donated to the Central Academy of Fine Arts as a scholarship for the Department of Chinese Painting. 1988 donated most of his personal paintings, Tibetan paintings and books to his hometown Tonglu County. In his later years, he insisted on painting and writing books, and organized art groups for teachers and students to go deep into life, create and discuss.
Ye devoted his life to art education and established a Chinese painting teaching system. At the same time, he is diligent in creation, pays attention to theoretical research, cultivates new people with his diverse artistic practice, makes outstanding contributions to China's fine arts cause and becomes a master of Chinese painting. 1995 died in may at the age of 88.
