The Story of the West Chamber is from the novel Yingying Biography of Tang Dynasty. The novel tells the tragic story that Cui Yingying, a girl who lives in Zhou Pu Pujiu Temple in Zhenyuan of Tang Dynasty, fell in love with Zhang Sheng, a scholar, and was finally abandoned. Yingying's tragic image sums up the same fate of a kind girl who was bound by feudal ethics and abandoned by frivolous teenagers in China history. But Yuan Zhen.

Shaping Yingying, who was deeply suppressed by feudal ethics, into a girl who could break the shackles of feudal ethics; Through portraying the positive characters such as matchmaker, Fa Cong and General White Horse, and the negative characters such as Zheng Heng, Sun Feihu and the old lady, the transformation from The Legend of Yingying to The West Chamber was initially completed.

Dong Xixiang is a rap art, which narrates the struggle between Sun Feihu, Facong and General Baima in one sixth of the space, which inevitably deviates from the theme of "talented people and beautiful women" proposed at the end of the article. As for the characterization of Zhang Sheng, Yingying and the old lady, although the ideological prejudice of Yingying Biography has been reversed, in some places, in order to incite the audience to cater to the interests of ordinary citizens, it is inevitable to be biased when trying to describe the modal of the characters in the book. It is a long skill of rappers, but it is more popular than elegant, which fails to fully show the personality characteristics of Zhang Sheng and Yingying with high cultural literacy. The matchmaker suggested that Zhang Sheng play the piano under the moon, and Yingying was very moved. Zhang Sheng asked the matchmaker to take a message to Yingying, who replied, "Stay in the west wing of the moon, with the windward door ajar; Some people suspect that Jade Man came to "see Zhang Sheng". That night, Zhang Sheng went to the appointment, but Yingying had to pretend to be angry because the matchmaker was present and reprimanded Zhang Sheng for being impolite. Zhang Sheng has been ill since then.

The matchmaker came to see Zhang Sheng and suggested Yingying must come to see Zhang Sheng that night, so Zhang Sheng recovered. In the middle of the night, Yingying came to Zhang Sheng's study and made a lifelong engagement with Zhang Sheng. When this matter was discovered by Cui Furen, he was furious and tortured the matchmaker. The matchmaker refused to argue with him and persuaded Cui Furen skillfully. Although Cui Furen promised to betroth Yingying to Zhang Sheng, she forced Zhang Sheng to go to Beijing immediately to catch the exam. If she failed, she still refused to marry her daughter to him.

Zhang Sheng bid farewell to Yingying, went to Beijing to take the exam and won the first place. However, Cui Furen's nephew Zheng Heng rumoured that Zhang Sheng became the son-in-law of Wei Shangshu and forced Cui Furen to marry Yingying. At this time, Zhang Sheng returned to Pujiu Temple.
