Holding an oil-paper umbrella alone
Wandering in the long, long
Lonely rain lane,
I hope to see
Like cloves.
A girl with a grudge.
She has the color of lilacs,
Lilac-like fragrance,
Sad as cloves,
Mourning in the rain,
Sadness and hesitation;
She lingers in this lonely rain lane,
Hold an oil-paper umbrella
Like me,
Like me.
Walking silently,
Cold, sad, melancholy.
She silently approached, approached and threw.
Breathing eyes
She drifted like a dream,
As sad and confused as a dream.
Floating like a dream
A lilac field,
Like this girl who floats by me;
She went away silently, far away,
A crumbling fence,
Walk through this rainy path.
In the lamentation of the rain,
Remove her color,
Spread her fragrance,
Disappeared, even hers
Breathing eyes,
Lilac is melancholy.
Holding an oil-paper umbrella alone
Wandering in the long, long
Lonely rain lane,
I hope to float over.
Like cloves.
A girl with a grudge.
This poem "Rain Lane" was written in 1927, which is Dai Wangshu's famous work and masterpiece. After this poem was published, it had a great influence, so the poet was called "Rain Lane Poet". Dai Wangshu (1905- 1950), a native of Hangzhou, Zhejiang, is a famous modern poet in China. 1923 was admitted to the literature department of Shanghai University. 1928, co-founded literature studio with Shi Zhecun, Du Heng and Feng Xuefeng. 1April, 929, the first book of poetry, My Memory, was published, among which Rain Lane became a masterpiece. 1932, went to France to study and entered China-France University in Lyon. /kloc-0 returned to China in the spring of 935. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he edited the literary supplement of Ta Kung Pao in Hong Kong and was arrested and imprisoned by the Japanese at the end of 194 1. While in prison, he wrote poems such as The Wall of Prison, I Use My Residual Palm, Wish and Waiting. After 1949, he compiled in the news department of the General Staff Department and died in Beijing soon. The collection of poems includes My Memory, Wang Shucao, Wang Shushi and Disaster Year.
Rain Lane depicts a gloomy picture of the alleys in the south of the Yangtze River in rainy season, which constitutes a lyrical artistic conception with strong symbolic color. Just like Zhu Ziqing's Moonlight on the Lotus Pond, the article is not entirely about scenery. 1927 is the most chaotic period in China, and everyone can't escape political choices. Experienced the May 4th Movement, intellectuals with conscience were particularly distressed. Conscious intellectuals like Zhu Ziqing and Dai Wangshu did not dare to confront the government at that time, so they could only pin their distress on their works. Here, the poet figuratively described the dark and gloomy social reality at that time as a narrow and lonely "rain lane" without sunshine and vitality. The lyric hero "I" is a wanderer, walking alone in such a rainy lane. "I" still cherish the longing and pursuit of beautiful ideals and hopes in loneliness. The "lilac-like girl" in the poem is a symbol of this beautiful ideal. However, this beautiful ideal is slim and difficult to realize. This mentality is the true mentality of some young intellectuals in 1927 who were pursuing at that time, because they could not find a way out under the low political pressure. In art, this poem also clearly reflects the creative characteristics of Dai Wangshu's early poems. This poem adopts the hand image of western symbolism, emphasizing suggestion and symbol. It is vague and implicit, and it also has the pursuit of musical beauty by the metrical party. The "sound and image" composition of this poem is reflected in the following aspects. Just as a poem has an image made up of ordinary people or things, a poem has an image made up of sounds that is organically related to the whole image. The "sound image" of this poem will deeply infect you, let you walk in the alley of "sound" in the rain in early spring, and be moved by some ancient and eternal loneliness of life. Silently, all kinds of melancholy and expectation will be born in your heart, making "Rain Lane" long, quiet and lonely. The lingering, long, sad and confused sound image is completely unified with the internal inversion of emotion, which fully renders the emotional image of the poem, arouses the association and synaesthesia of life and makes it move forever. It can be said that the rhythm and repetition of poems are not general descriptive effects, but purely musical expressive effects. Understand the mystery of melody and harmony in Rain Lane by reciting it repeatedly, that is, grasp the theme of music from its emotional appeal. "I", "Rain Lane" and "Girl" in the poem are not concrete portrayal of life, but lyrical images full of symbolic significance. In the 1920s, intellectuals had a deep understanding of the old school. The poet created a girl with a lilac knot in Rain Lane, which was obviously inspired by ancient poetry. It is a traditional expression in ancient Chinese poetry to use lilac knots, namely lilac buds, to symbolize people's worries. For example, there is a poem in Li Shangyin's "A Gift", "The banana does not show lilac knots, and the spring breeze is in the same direction"; In the Southern Tang Dynasty, Li Jing tied a lilac knot with me in the rain. He has a poem "Huanxisha", in which "the bluebird doesn't spread the news outside the cloud, and the lilacs are sad in the rain". In the poem Rain Lane, lilacs in the rain are used as a symbol of people's sadness. Obviously, Dai Wangshu absorbed the artistic conception and methods of describing sadness from these poems and applied them to form the artistic conception and image of Rain Lane. However, Dai Wangshu did not simply inherit this artistic conception, but made some innovations. Imagine a girl as sad as a lilac in a rainy lane. She has the image of lilac flowers that disappears in an instant, which is different from the old classics in classical poetry and shows more the breath of the new era. The girl with a grudge like lilac can arouse people's hope and disillusionment, and it is the product of artistic imagination better than life. Rain Lane is also the most successful example of using suggestive lyricism in China's modernist poetry. With an unpredictable feeling, an erratic inner state and a vague image, this poem expresses its loneliness, loss and emptiness in the vain pursuit of a beautiful ideal like lilac.
Rain Lane also pinned Dai Wangshu's hope for perfect love. Dai Wangshu's love life is not complete. He was engaged to Shi Zhecun's sister, but the relationship ended in vain. Later, he married a girl 12 years younger than himself, but in the end he ended up divorced and his love life was not smooth. Dai Wangshu's life is very short, only 45 years. His literary works in Europe only have more than 65,438+000 poems and some short articles, and there are no major works. However, the poem Rain Lane made him occupy a place in the history of China literature. As Ye Shengtao said, Rain Lane is "a new era of new poetry syllables".
