Jean Nicolas Arthur Rimbaud

/kloc-a famous French poet in the 0 th and 9 th centuries, a representative of early symbolism poetry and the originator of surrealism poetry.

Life and creation

Artur Rambo Rambo was born in a middle-class family in the village of charleville in the northeast of France. Rambo was an active and talented student when he was young. At the age of 15, he was able to write various poems in Latin and won many awards.

1870, George Isenbal, Rambo's teacher, became Rambo's literary leader. Under his guidance, Rambo began to write poems in French, and his French poetry writing level improved rapidly. Rambo was rebellious and ran away from home many times. He even joined the Paris Commune in 187 1. He described his experience of joining the Paris Commune in the poem "The Carnival of Parisians or the Rebirth of Paris". Besides, it can be seen from his poem "Twisted Mind" that Rambo was probably sexually assaulted by drunken Paris Commune soldiers. 187 1 year later, Rambo became a non-Marxist. He began to drink heavily, often with long hair, and paraded around the city in rags, trying to laugh at the serious middle class. He wrote a letter to his teacher Ethan Barr, systematically expounding his theory of poetry creation, that is, adding illusion factors to "a long, huge and rational riot".

At the end of September, Rambo returned to Paris again, but this time at the invitation of the famous symbolist poet paul verlaine. Wei Erlun once read Rambo's masterpiece "Drunk Boat" and liked his poetic talent very much. After coming to Paris, Rambo lived in Wei Erlun's home. Before long, Wei Erlun fell in love with this talented young man of literature and art aged 17, and they became famous homosexuals in Parisian poetry. After the two lived together, they lived in luxury and indulgence, and drinking and smoking marijuana were common. Their behavior was not tolerated by the literary elite in Paris, and Rambo's arrogance made many people disgusted. During this period, Rambo wrote many powerful poems, and his poetic achievements even surpassed Baudelaire, the pioneer of symbolic literature.

The homosexual relationship between Rambo and Wei Erlun is becoming increasingly fierce. In 1872, Wei Erlun even abandoned his wife, the youngest son of a monk, and eloped with Rambo to London. 1873 In July, they had a fierce quarrel at the Brussels Railway Station, and then Wei Erlun wounded Rambo's wrist with a gun. In a rage, Rambo called the police and Wei Erlun was arrested. During his arrest, Wei Erlun was even forced to undergo a series of humiliating psychotherapy, because Wei Erlun's wife accused her husband of having an abnormal "friendship" with Rambo. During the trial, the judge sentenced Wei Erlun to two years' imprisonment, although Rambo repeatedly claimed that he had withdrawn the charges against Wei Erlun. After Wei Erlun went to prison, Rambo returned to his hometown of charleville alone, and in great sadness, he finished the most outstanding poem A Season in Hell. This work is a masterpiece of symbolism literature. In the poem, Rambo recalled the years when he and Wei Erlun lived together as "lovers of hell". He even called Wei Erlun a "sad brother" and a "crazy virgin", and he was his "husband in hell". 1874, Rambo and the poet germain Novo returned to London again and published his controversial work "Color Painting Collection", which included two earliest French poems written in free verse.

Old age life

1875, Rambo and Wei Erlun met for the last time in German. By this time, Wei Erlun had been released and forced to convert to Catholicism. At this time, Rambo had had enough of his early indulgence, basically gave up his writing career and began to engage in some jobs that could bring him stable income. He started hiking in continental Europe. /kloc-in the summer of 0/876, he even joined the Dutch army just to travel to Java, Indonesia for free. However, when he arrived in Java, he soon got bored and immediately returned to France by boat. He went to Cyprus, finally settled in Aden and became an employee of Baldet Company. During this time, he no longer had same-sex feelings with men, but fell in love with many local women.

1884, Rambo quit his job and started to do business independently in Abyssinia (today's Ethiopia). He engaged in arms smuggling business and made a lot of money. At this time, Rambo's right knee synovitis quickly deteriorated into cancer. The deterioration of his condition forced Rambo to return to France on May 9. On May 27th, Rambo had his right leg amputated, but it still failed to inhibit the spread of cancer cells. In the same year,165438+1October 10, Rambo died in Marseille at the age of 37.

affect

Rambo has a profound influence on modern literature, music and art. His life experience in Paris was once made into the movie 1995, The Total Food of the Heart, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Rambo's creation is a great change in the history of French poetry. He himself is one of the most outstanding poets in the symbolism movement and is also recognized as the originator of surrealism. The poetic style of the "Beat Generation" born in the United States after World War II was also deeply influenced by Rambo. Today, when people recall the development of modern poetry, Rambo's name will never be ignored. Even Thomas Rigotti, a writer of horror novels, expressed himself as a loyal follower of Rambo on different occasions.
