Comment on Xu Lizhi and His I Swallow an Iron Moon

Xu Lizhi, male, born in 1990, Jieyang, Guangdong. After 90, Shenzhen poet was once known as the successor of working literature. 20 14 10 1 fell to his death, and the police suspected suicide. The last poem I left before I died, "As I Lay Dying," wrote: I came well and left well.

I swallowed an iron moon.

They call it a screw.

.

I swallowed the waste water of this industry, the order of unemployment.

Those young people under the machine died young.

.

I swallow and run, and when I swallow, I am displaced.

Swallow footbridges and life covered with rust.

.

I can't swallow any more.

Everything I once swallowed is now surging out of my throat.

Spread a song on the territory of the motherland

A poem of shame

This poem is so simple that anyone who can read can read it. But I still want to help you analyze it here in order to give readers a deeper understanding.

The whole poem can be roughly divided into three paragraphs, the core of which is the word "pharynx", which is a plain word in itself, but it is extremely heavy in this poem.

Let's look at the first section: "I swallowed an iron moon, and they called it a screw." In our daily life, the moon is a symbol of modesty, beauty and knowledge, while iron represents coldness, heaviness and inhumanity. Now that the moon made of iron has been swallowed by the poet, how helpless and sad it is! The "they" in the following "they call them screws" is quite intriguing. "They" can be workers, foremen, capitalists or ... The screw system here refers to the iron moon in front and those things below. Among them, the phrase "those young people who were crushed by the machine died young" is very subtle, which clearly indicates that the workers who took part in the work are young and short, and also implies how small the individual's youth and destiny are in front of the huge industrial machine.

In the second section, a series of metaphors are used to describe the hardships experienced by young writers at work. "Wastewater" refers to environmental pollution; "Unemployment Order" refers to dismissal due to poor performance; "Displacement" refers to the bumps and turns when looking for a job, "footbridge" refers to having no fixed place, and "rusty life" refers to a dirty and down-and-out living condition.

The two sentences before the third festival are the author's resistance to the heavy pressure of life, and the weak author can only do so in the face of a strong society. "What I once swallowed is now pouring out of my throat", and here "pouring out of my throat" is synonymous. The author actually wants to pour out what he has experienced through one heavy poem after another.

The last two sentences, "spread a shameful poem in the territory of the motherland", are the sublimation of the above feelings. In this era when people are cheap and houses are expensive, poets are ants in the land that nourish life with a face and a song. Even if there are thousands of quatrains, it is difficult to find a breakfast. Therefore, what really makes the author feel ashamed is not himself or poets, but this era of materialistic supremacy and ethical inversion.

In Xu Lizhi's short life, poetry gave him great comfort, but it also made him more sober and sensitive. This sobriety and sensitivity make him see life too thoroughly and deeply, so it is inevitable that there will be despair. He is not desperate for himself, but for the world. We can see his "They Say", "This City ……", "I Talk about Blood", "Life or Years" and so on.

Xu Lizhi is a real poet of this era. Although his poems are not too excellent, they are at least from the heart and close to life. They are disgusting works of true nature and bold.

Xu Lizhi and Yu Xiuhua, two benchmark figures in China poetry circles in the 20th century10s, two untouchables who grew up at the bottom of China society, one wrote about the city and the other wrote about the countryside, which brought two clean streams to China's chaotic poetry circles and swept away the haze and evil spirits. Now that Xu has gone, only Yu is left, still suffering from secular cynicism, scolding and pointing fingers.

Xu Lizhi has gone, so lightly, that China's poetry circles don't care about losing a poet;

Xu Lizhi's departure is so heavy that it weighs heavily on the hearts of those who love him and those they love.

Xu Lizhi left and went to a distant place without despair, where there were many talents, including Gu Cheng, Haizi, Gomez, Wolf, a house and so on, and perhaps future generations. ...

The withering of flowers

Has not diminished the charm of spring.

The fall of a star

Not the brilliance of the dark night sky.

.

A falling stone

Can only arouse a short wave

A strong appeal

The response can only be lighter and lighter.

.

The world is always so forgetful.

Not because of you and me.

Quietly changing world and relentless streamer.

What dominates all this is eternity.

.

Have the courage to endure and live.

Stick to it when you encounter stubborn diseases.

Never lose your mind in the whirlpool of fate.

Every life is hard-won.

.

The end of life—

Seems to have solved all the problems

Actually, we-

Fall into a deeper maze

.

Because in this sad and happy world,

Desire for survival and emotion are often intertwined.

Don't pray for others' pity and sigh

Like a coin dropped with a smile when begging.

.

The road of life is too crowded.

The road to death is too bitter and lonely.

Would rather be abandoned while alive.

Than be remembered after death.
