This poem is in Chu Ci style. He imitated Qu Yuan Chu Ge and placed the word "xi" in the middle. There are many obscure words in Chu songs that are metaphors for stories about men and women. Fu Xuan seems to be imitating the form of Chu Ci to write about love between men and women, but in fact he is imitating the spirit of Chu Ci to allude to the politics of the time.
