The famous poem of the famous British poet and playwright William Butler Yeats
"When You Are Old"
William Butler Yeats
When you are old and gray and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes hadonce, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
< p>But one manloved the pilgrim soul in you,And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bendingdown beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how love fled
And pacedupon the mountains overhead
And hid hisface amid a crowd of stars.

Translation by Yuan Kejia Version
When you are old, your hair is gray, and you are sleepy
As you take a nap by the fire, please take down this poem
Read it slowly and recall it The softness of your eyes in the past
Recall the heavy shadows of their past
How many people loved your youthful and joyful moments
Admired your beauty, falsely or sincerely
p>Only one person loves your pilgrim soul
Loves the painful wrinkles on your aging face
Hang your head by the glowing stove
p>
Telling sadly the loss of love
On the mountain overhead it paces slowly
Hiding its face among a group of stars
