Song title: "Glory Years (Mandarin)"
Singer: Beyond Band
Composer: Wong Ka Kui
Lyrics: He Qihong & Zhou Zhiping
How far does it take to travel in a lifetime
How many years does it take
To reach the end
How long does it take to dream
How much blood and tears
can it slowly come true
Let me spread my wings between heaven and earth
Who said that was a naive prophecy
Waving wild hands in the wind
Writing brilliant poems
No matter how tired you are
The world changes with the tide
Welcome to the glorious days
Dedicate your life to it
How far does it take to walk in a lifetime
How many years have to pass
To the end
Living alone in the black world
As long as I am willing to look forward
Hope will not be disillusioned
Let me spread my wings and fly high in the world< /p>
Who said it was a naive prophecy
Wielding hands wildly in the wind
Writing brilliant poems
No matter how tired I am< /p>
The world is changing with the tides
Welcome to the glorious years
Dedicate your life to it
Waving your hands wildly in the wind
Write a splendid poem
No matter how tired you are
The world is changing with the tides
Welcome the glorious years
For It devotes its whole life
It waves its hands wildly in the wind
Writes brilliant poems
No matter how tired it is
Tides come and go to the world Many changes
Welcome the glorious years
Dedicate your life to it
Waving your hands wildly in the wind
Write brilliant poems
p>No matter how tired you are
The world is changing with every passing tide
Welcome the glorious years
Dedicate your life to it
1. Introduction to the song
"Glory Days" is a song sung by the Hong Kong rock band Beyond. Wong Ka-kui composed the music and wrote the lyrics for the Cantonese version of the song, while the Mandarin version was written by Ho Kai-hong and Zhou Zhiping. The Cantonese and Mandarin versions of the song were included in Beyond's Cantonese album "Destiny Party" released in September 1990 and Mandarin album "Glory Days" released in April 1991. This song is a work composed by Huang Jiaju for the South African black leader Nelson Mandela.
2. Introduction to the band
Beyond, a famous rock band from Hong Kong, China, is also one of the most prestigious bands in the Chinese region. It was founded in 1983. Its name is The Chinese meaning is "beyond". The band is original and its works are mainly realistic.
The band has gone through many personnel changes, among which the four-member lineup of Wong Ka Kui, Wong Ka Keung, Wong Guanzhong and Yip Sai Wing is the most well-known. Since Wong Ka Kui died unexpectedly in Tokyo, Japan in 1993, the band has not been looking for new members to fill the band. As a result, the band lost its main singer-songwriter; but it also drove the music style in the post-Beyond period to not only have a heavier rock flavor, but also to develop in a diversified way, so the band is worthy of the word "transcendence".
In 2005, Beyond held the "Beyond The Story Live 2005" world tour farewell concert and announced their disbandment. The three continued to develop their music careers individually.
The band's works are mainly realistic, and their content often reflects the current ills of society and what they see and feel. The works sometimes arouse widespread discussion in society. The band has always insisted that each member is responsible for composing the melody and arrangement of all works; in order to truly express their opinions or feelings on a certain theme, they try to write the lyrics themselves, but sometimes they also leave them to Liu Zhuohui and others. The lyrics are written by the lyricist.
Representative works include "Broader Sea and Sky", "Glory Years", "Really Love You", "Like You", etc.
